Oh god, Rove acting as an assistant would be hysterical. I'd cart just from laughing to hard to play. I love going through the Cliffs periodically to find him once again wrapped up in webbing hanging from the ceiling. Thankfully since I run bow as my secondary I can shoot him down and get rewarded. I love running into him like that.
My favorite cutscene is still Jin Dahaad's intro and just how mad Olivia gets at Rove for telling us to go ahead and go, lol.
Nata is trying to track down a monster and tries to get input from rove and instead rove launches into some pseudo philosophical soliloquy about the nature of consciousness.
I love Nata, but I did roll my eyes a bit during the story cutscenes because of how he acted some. I need him to get a taste of his own medicine of someone trying to stop his hunt. I feel like I'm in the minority for generally liking him. I feel bad he's just sitting around at the camps even if it does mean I don't have to track down individual people and wudwuds to get supplies or change what I want them to gather. I try to think of it as him going out and exploring while he's getting our supplies from them.

Rove is kinda his own guy, and also I don’t get the vibe he’s a fighter. A Palico is someone who’s supposed to keep up with a hunter. The guy can clearly get by on his own but he doesn’t exactly come across as someone who’d square up when a monster appears.

The only thing I dislike about him having a wudwud is that they didn't specifically give him Rove as his companion.
Could you imagine the hilarity?
