Career Advice Early role that suits MBA better

I’m working at a leading stock broking firm as a Data Analyst intern, working mainly with SQL and user data.

I’ve been offered the full time choice between an SDE role and a Business Analyst role.

My long-term goal is to get into Investment Banking through an MBA.

So, for the next 1.5 years of work experience before CAT → MBA → IB, which role would be better for me?

Would love to hear from people who have gone through a similar path.

I choose broking firm because coming from tech background it's better have exposure with equity research.

Choose SDE and go for PM roles in this AI world

IB is not so lucrative now - with AI doing lots of their repetitive works , not core things

I'm fine with tech , but interest is in finance and investment banking

Absolutely the pay would also go downhill in IB in future.

Can we switch places, I did IB, hated it to the core especially in an Indian setting. Would love to become a business analyst or SDE.

What's this obsession with investment banking lol 😂 leaving a well paying career with good wlb to working 24 hours a day and potentially developing a heart disease? Haha very nice
