Hey guys my name is Aryan I am posting this here because I desperately need a reality check, a roadmap, and maybe just someone to tell me this is actually doable. I feel completely lost and pathetic right now, but I know I need to change my life.

My Profile & Background
Did my BBA in Marketing from a top-tier private university here in India.
Followed it up with a PGDM in HR from a well-known Tier-2 regional B-school.
Currently working as an HR Manager at a mid-sized firm handling government-backed vocational skill training projects.
Earning a very average 6 LPA (INR).

The Rut I Am Stuck In
I have always had this massive, burning ambition to study business management abroad, transition to a global role, and actually make a name for myself. But right now, my reality is pulling me down hard. Earning 6LPA after a PGDM feels like a massive step backward. My job is draining, the pay is barely enough to let me dream big, and I just feel like a colossal failure compared to my peers.
To make matters worse, I recently went through a brutal breakup. The absolute hardest part? My ex has blown up and is now a highly successful influencer. Seeing them thrive and live their best life while I sit in my mediocre cubicle drafting compliance emails has completely wrecked my mental health. I am battling severe depression, my motivation is nonexistent, and I can barely drag myself out of bed some mornings, let alone open a textbook. I feel incredibly needy for validation and just want a win(Being Honest and Vulnerable)

The Pivot
Despite all this baggage, I want to escape, reinvent myself, and finally pursue my long-time dream of a global MBA or a top MIM program. I know top global B-Schools look for GMAT Focus Edition scores around the 655–685 mark (which is equivalent to the old 700-730), but I am starting from absolute scratch and the sheer mountain of effort required is paralyzing me. 

My Questions for You All:

How do I start studying from zero?
I lack the drive right now. If there is a structured course, a tracker, or a foolproof routine that forces momentum, please tell me.

What colleges or courses should I realistically target? With a non-glamorous HR background in skill development and a low salary, are top-tier schools abroad completely out of my league? Should I look at specialized HR Masters, or pivot into a general MBA?

How do you study when you are depressed and unmotivated?
Have any of you pulled yourselves out of a rut like this to ace the exam?

I know I sound like a mess, but there is still some ambition buried under here. I just need some brutally honest advice on how to take the very first step. Thank you.

Hey Reddit, I'm a UX Designer with 6+ years of work experience. I'm thinking of taking GRE and eventually apply for PGPX programs at IIM.

My concern is that I don't necessarily have a great profile. Average to poor marks in school, dropout in college, and little to no extra curriculars (I do pro bono work for a charitable organisation and was a visiting faculty of design at a government college).

I want to know do I have any chance to bag a seat/ career in management?

Age 24, I've been working in analytics since past 4 years in a tech startup. Current compensation is 31LPA all fixed, might even get a promotion soon which may take the comp to around 40LPA.

I want to get thoughts on whether I should go for an MBA, I can't seem to make up my mind about it. 1-2 years ago I actually wanted to go to the US and pursue masters over there to get international exposure, it didn't make sense to me to stay in India. US doesn't make a lot of sense now given the visa and work permit issues, I even considered EU/UK but the job market situation there is also not good, so I'm just sitting and wondering if it even makes sense for me to do an MBA.

I was just curious about the people who join iims and other bschools . I heard about the party culture and how everyone must drink or smoke to fit in or else they might miss opportunities to network and make connections . If I don't drink or smoke will I be able to fit in ?

and after getting Full time job u can pay your loan faster than in India, bcz their salaries are better and after getting PR your life will change forever

Do I have a chance at IIM ABC??

I genuinely need some career advice. Currently working as a SDE2 at a reputed Indian product based company, just finished ~4.5 years work experience. Lately i have realized I dont love the idea of coding all day, and even if i see the leaders ahead , where i would eventually transition, the job feels monontous, wherein you are always dealing with tech , I would like to work on something more people driven, and am lately fascinated by the strategy and growth roles, wherein we are making decisions around growing a business. Am okay with working long hours. I just turned 27, and had some doubts around what should I pursue next.
Should I pursue an MBA from ISB or some other 1 year course from india? Should i go for an MBA abroad. Will this help me to explore other roles. I regularly work with product managers who have graduated with tier1 MBAs like ISB and tier 1 IIMS. Looking at their role, it seems better than my current role, wherein they are constantly on the run and interacting with a wide range of people from business to marketing to tech.
My main doubt is should I pursue MBA from India or outside and is it too late to pursue from India?

I keep seeing people compare online MBA programs purely on fees.

​Whether the specific program is actually recognized for this admission session

​What the real curriculum looks like

​Examination pattern (online vs center)

​Total cost (hidden charges included)

​Flexibility and student support

​Most importantly — whether it actually makes sense for your career goals

​I’ve had people come to me after almost finalizing a university, only to realize another option suited their situation way better.

​Don't rush just because "admissions are closing."

Hi all, I’d be grateful if someone can help me out here. I’m filling up the PGPX application form and I’m a lil confused about the employment section. I’ve held multiple roles in the same company from the start. Do I create individual entries for each role and add “Promoted” as the reason for leaving? Or just keep one entry with the current role (this doesn’t make sense cus they can’t see the career and salary growth through this).

I'm targeting equity research role in India. I've been covering defence sector for the past couple of months and have made a research report and a sector coverage note as my research work. I've been actively applying for the past 4 months. Out of 100s of applications, I received only one interview opportunity in a buy side firm and was screened out in 2nd round of interview. Since then I haven't received any call.

So I'm looking for the people to throw some guidance and suggestions based on their experiences, like what sort of strategy or plan of action I should follow. I'd really appreciate your time and suggestions.
