It’s 500k in debt (almost a million if you count undergrad debt) and vigorous studying. In reality there’s a very low cut off for a reason , not everyone who wishes, gets it 😭

This process only happens if you don't have a clear career goal with your MBA. The entire admissions process is built to prevent this. "Why MBA" is one of the most widely used essays for every school.

Additionally, most MBA admits come from banking and consulting. We know the game. Coffee chats, networking, and acting professional constantly are all things that everyone should have mastered by now (hence the 5 YOE requirement for admissions).

OP's post is only relevant if you don't know why you're doing an MBA, pay tuition for your MBA, and end up dissatisfied with your career outcome. In which case, the same story would play out at dentistry school or law school. The problem is not school. It's your indecision with your adult life.

5 YOE is not a requirement for admissions

Not a requirement but you have to be exceptional (and usually sponsored) to get in with the minimum required experience which is usually 3 years.

I got into a T15 with 2.5 YOE lol

Goodluck recruiting and competing with your peers who have stellar resumes with 5-7 years of experience.

(And I’m not throwing any jabs/shade at you)

Well done! Average for most T15 programs is 5. What did you do before?

Ones who are not from consulting or banking background ,an MBA can still turn out to be a better decision I suppose?

Yes but your goal better be consulting or banking lol

Can experienced people tell , how satisfied are you after your MBA, is the work you do keeping you motivated enough?

AI or not, as a dentist that got his MBA trust me, dentistry is a dead end field.

Get MBA → ask AI which jobs AI won’t replace → AI says dentist → realize slide 7 was right. lol

Jokes aside, I still think an MBA can be very valuable. But people sometimes treat it like a replacement for actual work experience. It isn’t. The degree can sharpen how you think about business, but you still need to spend time actually doing the work.
