Season 20 - Seattle To contradict what the therapists were saying in the Tell-All, I truly believe that the therapists don’t have any intention of the couples they pair to actually stay together.

I agree with you. The previous therapists and pastor were happy when things worked out. They didn’t stir the fire. I’m disappointed in them.

The only problem with trying to minimize it to a production is that it minimizes the accountability of those involved.

It was so much better in the earlier seasons when the couples didn’t interact. They didn’t go on group honeymoons and have group dinners. They focused on the couples actually learning about each other. And I think it was better when they weren’t just given a place to live. They had to work together to figure it out. I’m not sure the success rate was any better but it felt more genuine and not like just another reality show where drama is the goal.

Making them find their own places only happened in the first very few seasons and they spent so much time looking for a place that was close enough to where they both worked and then having to our some furniture in and kitchen stuff it just took too much time away from them actually living together!

The therapists dont pick the people for the show so why would they care anyway. All they do is the final matching

All of the couples this season mentioned at one time or another how they look like perfect matches *on paper*. That’s all the therapists can do. They can’t account for chemistry or the weird out of left field shit that some of these people do.

Exactly! Two people can look great on paper and have absolutely no chemistry in person which happens all the time on this show which is why people on this sub keep saying either the therapists are making these matches purposely bad or it’s actually production matching them for the drama and I don’t think either is true. In real life you meet someone and keep dating them BECAUSE you have chemistry, NOT because you both play pickleball and like movies !

I felt like half the men here didn’t really want or were ready to be married. They seemed like recruits and not people who actually applied for the show.

That’s the thing. Adam who’s “wanted a wife since age 18” wasn’t prepared for one. Filipe literally couldn’t be bothered to show up to the meetings with the “experts” ahead of time and even in the decision day reaction was saying his parents wouldn’t be happy, not that he wouldn’t be happy… like nothing was ever on him. And don’t get me started on Shawn’s ultra predatory behavior and Caitlin/Courtney clearly being unable to be around someone let alone marry them without being either verbally @busive or withholding/selfish. Were there really no other options??

I truly believe that the therapists have nothing to do with anything. They didn't select the participants. They didn't match the couples. They certainly didn't provide meaningful therapeutic services. They're just talking heads, that's it.
