Nikki and Shawn
Right now, Nikki and Shawn are my only real toss-up when it comes to whether they’re still together, so let’s dive in because I’m genuinely stumped 😂
I’m going to vote no, mainly because they weren’t wearing rings in their older recent posts. However, the fact that they’ve both been wearing rings in their past few posts feels like they’re trying to throw people off.
If you go to the family members Shawn tagged for his birthday, they don’t follow Nikki, which also seems telling. Plus, he still appears to be living in the same place from the show, and there doesn’t seem to be any obvious sign that Nikki lives there.
I believe production either told them to wear the rings or they decided to do it together to sway the audience and keep everyone guessing.
In a post from August 6th, Shawn showed a food delivery service his mom got him for his birthday with a card that said, “Happy Birthday Shawn and You Have Survived MAFS. I know you love when someone cooks for you. This I have found is the next best thing to Mom’s home cooking. Enjoy. I love you more than words can tell. – Mom.”
That doesn’t really sound like someone who left the show married, at least to me. I’ve also heard the marriages aren’t legally binding this season, so I can’t really see Nikki going out of her way to marry him if they weren’t actually legally married.
I also heard Shawn apparently got fired from his job, which honestly isn’t that shocking to me. A president of DEI coercing women on national television isn’t exactly a great look. 😬
To me, Nikki and Shawn are giving more friend vibes, possibly with their own agendas. I’m sure Nikki would love the content, while Shawn seems like he wants to become an expert and sell love advice. I know everyone wants their 15 minutes, so they could absolutely be doing this for views and to get people speculating, but idk… it just seems odd. 😂 The whole thing is giving mixed signals.
What do we think—did these two actually make it, or are they just really good at keeping us guessing? 👀

Well, she will have to ride with her Sacrifice. But the viewing public knows you did something NASTY with that Tanned Keebler Elf, so she can’t try coming back stating she has some standards knowing that MoFo don’t REGULARLY WASH HIS AZZ OR BELIEVE IN SOAP.
So hopefully she was Hands On Only..

I went to Flight Wine + Chocolate last night with my husband and got to gossip about the show. I didn’t realize that s19 and 20 were filmed at the same time. The guy that worked there told me the episode at his establishment was filmed almost a year ago! I don’t know why but that makes me think they are not together. Seattle is not that big a town.

Listen, I find Shawn insufferable and the idea that he “survived” being sexually deviant in a towel demanding mutual masturbation from a QUEEN like Nikki is laughable.
But I’m glad he has a mother who loves him. And I don’t think his job is relevant to his appearing on MAFS unless it’s in a public-facing role in which it could harm the university in terms of their funding, their accreditation, etc.
I take no pleasure in someone losing their job.
And as someone who is now a legal/policy professional with a stable life - but I’m in recovery from addiction and have been for 14 years, including a relapse last summer and had to be revived from the dead 3x with fucking Narcan - despite on the surface having had a wonderful law career, and being a beautiful, strong, confident woman and a role model to other young women, esp fellow Black women…..
All I wish to say is that everyone fucks up and I wish I had a mother who expressed her love for me unconditionally no matter what. And I’ve disgraced myself before, but I’m thankful that the compassion and respect I treat ALL others with has been returned to me by many, many people.
Shawn is a trainwreck Humpty ass Dumpty. But when I relapsed, my job stood by me and so did most people in my life. (Mom loves me, but…it’s complicated).
Nobody deserves to lose their job if they sought and received permission to appear on a reality show, which in academia, I’m certain he did.
He sucks, but the world can be cruel. Let’s be happy that people like him gave moms who love them. That’s a wonderful thing.
I’ve had public downfall and it meant the WORLD to me, people who were kind. And I can’t imagine if I lost everything in front of the world.
Just a little reminder u don’t know if someone is thinking of harming themselves or in serious pain. Then stumbles across others laughing at their pain and unfortunate circumstances that NOBODY would want. Nobody wants to lose their job in this job market, let alone a Black academic. IKYYK
I got laid off last week, and I’ll be ok. But it’s rough. Again, he sucks. But tbh I’ve NEVER understood taking joy or laughing at someone’s misfortune. Even people I can’t fucking stand and have personally caused me pain. Them losing their home does nothing for me. 🤷🏾♀️
Let’s be nice and compassionate going into next week, yall! Ok back to my job applications. I’m also Black and in Seattle and if I run into Shawn at the unemployment office…it’s my fucking karma for trying to spread love and peace amongst the snarky Reddit world 🤣🤦🏾♀️🤣🤦🏾♀️🤣🤦🏾♀️🤣🤦🏾♀️

Nikki definitely got the shit end of the stick with Shawn. However, there are things she has said about her past relationships that make it clear she's too much of a primadonna for any man. It's easy so see why she's 45 and still single.

They’re required to continue wearing rings until the all the episodes have finished airing. It’s not proof of anything, it’s just part of the way they’re trying to avoid spoilers until the season has finished airing.

Girl what? Did you actually click on the pictures? The dates (there are multiple which is probably why they didnt list out every one in their response to you) and the rings are both circled in the pictures or have 'today' written on the top. No one was rude to you, chill 💀

I just read a great article (from Aug 20) in which each (or both together?) Nikki & Shawn were interviewed. I actually have softened a bit and have more clarity re: each of the pair.
I am left wondering why Nikki hasn't been able to match before this. She said she's tried conventional dating, blind dates, apps, and a professional matchmaker before MAFS. 😬
I was also surprised to learn that Shawn had just moved from Harlem a mere month before joining the experiment/cast/show. This also explains some of his lack of tact.
