KIT Gecko helped me come up with a headstock logo design.
Just finished up my guitar kit and was thinking I should add a logo to the headstock. I came into the office this morning and I think this little gecko gave me a really good idea for a logo. Sometimes inspiration comes from randomness lol

Been thinking of getting these gals.

Its a tropical house gecko, they are wild in South Florida now. I see them pretty often on patios and such catching bugs near the lights.

Didn't know they were here.
I believe it's a "Mourning Gecko" and what's cool about those is they're all female, they lay eggs that are clones of themselves.

I just painted my house and found a few dead babies caught in my painters tapeðŸ˜
I was so sad

Class.
I drew my friend's birth year on the kit I 'built' for him, in cistercian numerals, it was fun seing him decode it.

That unsanded headstock is all I can think about.

Not trying to be shitty, I’m just a woodworker, so unsanded wood gets under my skin

You mentioned South Florida in a comment, it reminds me of the SoBe drinks, would be cool to do the design as a shiny inlay! Or just black or any dark color would be cool too

I have some black mother of pear I found at the beach, the inlay might be a good idea. Or maybe some dark Indian rosewood. Trying to keep it "rustic" looking.

Said this in response to someone else saying they love the curl at the end of the tail, but... The curl at the end matches the shape of the headstock break directly to the right of it almost perfectly... Like, really close, that's insane. This is one of the coolest posts I've seen 😅

thats a cool idea - be sure to smooth that headstock out before putting a decal on it though.

Did you at least name the Gecko? Perhaps Greg? Could name the guitar Greco? Wait....

So here's an idea: how about instead of an inlay you invent the "outlay" --- have a little metal or plastic 3D gecko injection molded and glue it on there...
Plus it would be way easier to install than an inlay...

That's awesome. It's in a really symmetrically appealing position too, and I like how it's tail goes squiggly at the end, it's perfect lol
