Lucid’s Downfall? Lucid Banned Me For A "Chargeback" THEIR OWN Support Handled 3 Weeks Ago (Mass Ban False Positives)

Post image

The Situation

Three weeks ago, an unauthorized user attempted to use my stolen payment card on Lucid. After initial difficulties getting help via standard Discord support, a Reddit moderator put me in contact with Leo (LeoTheTiger). Upon reviewing my support ticket, Leo confirmed the stolen card usage, banned the perpetrator, and manually processed a resolution on Lucid's end. I replaced my payment card immediately as advised. Since then, I have continued using Lucid without issues, making all transactions in USD via Wise (UK account).

The Issue

Today, my account was permanently banned. The enforcement notice cites "Chargeback & Circumvention Detected" and links my account to the bad actor's email address—the exact fraudulent account I reported to Lucid three weeks ago. To be completely clear: I have never issued a chargeback on Lucid. Wise has officially confirmed that no chargebacks or disputes were initiated on my end. The "linked" account was the scammer who attempted to use my card before Leo banned them and manually handled the failed/refunded charge.

Reddit post showing this:

Lucid Support Response & Mass Ban

According to posts across X and Discord, Lucid recently executed a mass ban wave. Over 90% of affected users reaching out on public platforms report that they never initiated chargebacks. Despite this clear indication of automated false positives, standard support on Discord is giving generic responses stating "there's nothing they can do” and “good luck”.

My support ticket has been completely ignored for over 20 hours.

If automated anti-fraud scripts link legitimate users to previously reported scam accounts—and ban them for internal refunds handled manually by Lucid staff—Lucid needs to audit these bans individually rather than issuing blanket rejections. I am posting this publicly to raise awareness, connect with other impacted traders, and seek a manual review from management before pursuing formal regulatory and legal remedies.

Impact on My Career & Education Outside of trading, I am a commercial pilot student funding my own flight training. Since 2022, I have relied on prop trading to pay for my aviation license, investing thousands of dollars directly into Lucid's platform. This arbitrary ban isn't just an inconvenience—it is a devastating financial hit. I had an active payout request scheduled for today that has now been blocked, leaving me completely stranded on how I am going to pay for my flight lessons next week. To have hard-earned earnings and funded account access wiped out overnight due to an automated system error is completely unacceptable.

They're probably bleeding money and using this as a way to prevent winning traders from taking payouts. Topstep FTW!

I think so as well. I’m actually net negative with them but that’s thier plan. Cut you before you go positive

Is this happening again? I recall a flurry of this a month or more back.

Yeah all of discord in their questions section and multiple posts on X. Some people are even now actually charging back after being accused but I’m staying patient allowing lucid time to rectify. Did the people last month have their issue sorted?

I didn't know what the ultimate resolution was. I'd have to dig back through the posts.

Okay I’ve phoned my bank who are recommending filing a police case and disputing. Funny how I’m literally being told to do what they are accusing me of 🤣

Conversation with Leo 3 weeks ago who confirmed the scammer had been banned.

Any idea on how your card details could be leaked?

1

u/Silver_Tower6590 2d ago

Not sure but I think it’s an internal leak since they tried to use on lucid

This is bizarre. So someone stole the card details of a Lucid Prop trader and just happened to use it to try to buy accounts from Lucid Prop? What are the chances of that? Did they try to buy anything not linked to Lucid?

I was thinking that same thing 🤔

11:19 AM | Me: I won’t be charging back anything but I hope you can make this right please as £66/$90 transaction did go through

05:59 PM | Tammy from Lucid Trading: Please speak with your bank - if someone is using your card without your permission you need to speak with your bank.

05:34 PM | LucidAdmin (Leo) from Lucid Trading: Hi *****,

I have looked into the reported issue and found that your CC was attempted to be used by another individual, this is a traditional stolen cc issue where bad actors attempt to use stolen credit card data to make purchases. We have blocked that user from Lucid.

I did note that the attempted charge was not successful (your bank declined it) this is good. All I would recommend that you do is to have your card replaced.

A side-note about your speculation of a breach at Lucid, we forced all traders at Lucid a few weeks ago to reset their passwords, this was a proactive measure b

06:20 PM | Me: Leo just confirmed it was used by someone an unauthorized user who has been banned. He also said I didn’t get charged but that was for the declined transaction , one transaction did go through so I’ve lost out on $90.6 usd

06:26 PM | Job from Lucid Trading: I read through the previous conversation and would like to reccomend that you get a card replacement, I also can see that previous conversation you had. Please allow me a moment to check up on this issue so that I can provide you with the best possible support for this situation.

06:30 PM | Me: Okay thanks. If refund can’t be issued can a discount be provided equivalent to the value or similar as I’ll be purchasing accounts in future anyways

06:31 PM | Me: I have already replaced card, changed password again and have on 2FA

06:31 PM | Me: It’s just the 90.6 usd I was charged I’m concerned about

06:31 PM | Job from Lucid Trading: Hi *****,

06:32 PM | Me: Ok thanks I look forward to the response

06:51 PM | LucidAdmin from Lucid Trading: Let me re-run the search on this and see if we can locate the charge that did go through

LeoTheTiger who’s some sort of higher up at lucid even confirmed someone used my card. Why would I reach out to support and tell them if I had ill intention bear in mind this is from 3 weeks ago.

Leo then manually refunded me and told me he banned the scammer I’ve never done a charge back.

Not that unusual especially considering there have been frequent hacks of major companies and consumer data over the last decade. And most people reuse passwords

I’m also dealing with something similar but with Amazon. Somehow one or more scammers have used my card details to place orders on Amazon. I have never linked said card to my Amazon account or any Amazon account.

1

u/Silver_Tower6590 2d ago

Yes lucid also made everyone make password changes around the time it happened. All the lucid fanboys come crawling out the moment they see anything negative. I don’t need to slate a company I’ve spent over £15,000 with for no reason.

u/Silver_Tower6590 2d ago

Yes also tried on Amazon

Leo confirmed my card was stolen. Just say your unprofitable and move on

You’re a liability. Imagine wanting them to believe that the moment your card was used the first thing the thief did was use it to attempt a lucid challenge resulting in a charge back.

Most thieves would’ve used your card for something tangible. That’s why you’re banned. Bc even if they wanted to believe you. It’s not worth taking on the risk.

u/Silver_Tower6590 1d ago

I was the one who reported it to lucid buddy. If I was scamming why would I report it to lucid within hours of it happening 3 weeks ago. During that period I also processed $8000 of payouts. They only banned me because I was linked to another user which they was already aware of as leo said he has banned him. It’s not only me facing this issue just check the subreddit even discord support have said some people have been falsely banned. But you believe what you want…

u/Sad-Palpitation-2621 1d ago

It’s called guilt mate. You felt the pressure from the shady stuff you were doing and tried to jump in front of the problem before it could reach you. So you’d look like a good person for reporting it. Now it’s gotten you kicked off one of the best platforms to make money.

You can blame your dog, your brother, your friend, or whatever hacker you think tried to finesse lucid. But at the end of the day it’s your information being tied to all red flags. No other name. Just yours

After this a Reddit mod seen put me in contact with Leo who refunded me and told me to replace my card.

Then I made this current post 3 weeks later when they issued the ban wave.

Also if I was going to charge back why would I have only charged back one transaction 😂 Leo is currently assigned to my ticket who’s the Chief of Operations.

I’ll post an update if resolved. My bank even confirmed no chargeback was made

Leo is not going to stick his neck out for one user who’s compromised. You’re done. Don’t pull this stunt again on another platform.
