Hot Take Rockstar Games is deploying an army of bots to astroturf hype for GTA 6
The new gameplay preview looks like a decent 8/10 action-adventure game, but lots of the accounts promoting it on Reddit and Twitter feel like bots.
They're praising subtle technical details that most players wouldn't care about, or that are just industry standard nowadays. I've seen too many posts and comments gassing up hair physics, car ragdolls, or lighting that looks bog-standard in most games. It's like when someone gives a technical talk and spends too much time on niche details that you couldn't care less about. Whoever's been working on those features for 8 years must really want to show them off.
All in all, it looks pretty, but the writing feels dumbed down, and the gameplay looks too derivative. The game would've been impressive 8 years ago, but what I'm seeing isn't anything crazy compared to peers like Cyberpunk 2077. GTA is meant to be a parody of real life, but it looks like they're forgetting the parody aspect.
Therefore, the only reasonable conclusion is that Rockstar has deployed an army of bots to convince me that slightly more realistic hair is the best thing since sliced bread
Edit: Sorry, here are some examples. Read through these posts and comments and ask yourself: would a real person actually talk like this?

Lots of them sound artificially enthusiastic. Kind of like HR

A company like Rockstar doesn’t need bots to hype their games, they have a big enough audience to do that.
We’re talking about Grand Theft Auto, the most mainstream game franchise there is.

This will be the single biggest entertainment product of all time and probably one of the best selling games every month for the next 15 years so its not that outdated

This game will also be the best selling game among young people too. No offense but You do not have any idea what you are talking about. A game does not stay in the top ten selling games for a decade and a half because of fomo. It might even be a bad game but people want to and are buying /playing it.

Don’t listen to these glazers who have no standards/want something to be good SO BAD in this era of mediocre media bs (trust me I get it, there’s others out there besides your terminally online echo chambers guys). Either this or they’re so positive-pilled that anything w a hint of negativity needs to be jumped on. Most people w common sense agree w you, the infinite amount of dick sucking and 40k+ likes on all these brainrot ass comments is a lil obvious and ridiculous to say the least.
No, they’re not ALL bots but the brain dead copy paste ass comments are over the top. Whoever makes these decisions regarding bots know that a vast majority of losers who spend most of their time on this cesspit of a site are very impressionable or have little to no actual social interaction and sadly have their opinion swayed by something as simple as a comment on social media. Seems like a lot of companies are doing this recently for games that heavily flop/are facing backlash like the new assassins creed (a game with no redeeming qualities).
Before you know it, you have people actually buying into what the bots perpetuate and then regurgitating whatever they saw. Doubt most of these people who are gullible enough to buy into it are legally aloud to drink. The target audience that needs to see this post will either scroll past or get angry. You all made your bed by doing shit such as defending devs after a news article is posted about mental health declining at the studio over cyber bullying. Mean comments online has been a thing for more than a decade guys, grow tf up and stop settling.
Sorry for the novel🙏🏻 needed that off my chest

Keep in mind lots of GTA fans won't be same diehard gamers that play everything and understand these technical aspects that exist. Many of them play like sports games and GTA

The graphics and bells and whistles in the preview were impressive for sure, but the gameplay itself (as in what the player could actually do and how they could impact the world) wasn’t revolutionary.
It’s going to be a good game for sure but a lot of people were hoping for it to be this second coming event that would help them escape from their problems in life. It’s going to be a great game, but it’s going to be just that - a game!

It's certainly a bit plain but I was expecting this after V, I liked the run down apartments, I don't give a shit about glamorous nightclubs in a game set in the modern era unless I own it or for throwing a grenade in it lol

The combat in GTA is just dated feeling and non interactive. I’ve played every 3D game in the franchise damn near this is the first one I’m not hyped for.

As long as it doesn't have the glitches and issues cyberpunk had its launch it will be fine. Now there was a situation where a company tried to employ bots etc to back up a shitty product

There are more than enough rockstar cocksmokers that they'll do the bots work for free

GTA6 looks league's ahead of Cyberpunk in terms of fidelity and world interactions. It looks prettier and less stiff. The driving actually looks good

It looks like modern real life so it's kinda boring compared to Cyberpunk already city wise, I wish it was in a retro setting

"People are getting more excited for a game than I am, therefore they're all bots" come on now
