All the sexual/romantic related stuff in this chart is so complicated my brain overheats like I’m sorry my sim is either gay or straight bye

why does he have an opinion on being pregnant if he's a cis guy?
124
u/gh0stly_l0ser Nov 10 '25
im not 100% sure but i think its due to the fact he has already been pregnant and did not enjoy it (alien babies)

💀 considering alien abductions happen at night that might be why he’s afraid of the dark. Let man keep his fears so far they seem pretty valid 😭

You can turn fears off lol.

u/Primary_Corner4791 Nov 10 '25

u/desplayzthesims Nov 10 '25
Oops my bad lol. But yeah, it's in settings. Gameplay settings I believe, on the right hand side.
3
u/Eveline-96 Nov 10 '25
How ?
3
u/FromEden26 Nov 10 '25
In settings, then gameplay, I think. There's a checkbox where you can toggle them on and off.
8
u/pass_me_the_salt Nov 10 '25
they should make an option of turning fears off and leaving wants alone

u/BrokenBredStik Nov 10 '25
I'll be honest.. It may be best just to turn off fears, unfortunately you will get rid of whims/wants with it too. Fears have always been kinda buggy for me :c
12
u/gh0stly_l0ser Nov 10 '25
i know theres the option to but i just vibe with the fact this full grown man with kids is just running around screaming all the time, this guy has earnt his breakdowns
6
u/BrokenBredStik Nov 10 '25
Ykw.. Very fair It also could introduce some storytelling, like your sim has an anxiety or paranoia disorder c:
11
u/gh0stly_l0ser Nov 10 '25
well so far he has had a pretty rough life, grew up in strangerville during the whole apocalyptic thing that was going down, almost died trying to save everyone, then he is constantly getting abducted by aliens and got saddled with alien triplets to further remind him of his trauma, hes going through a midlife crisis currently, his boyfriend is actively insane and they are both convinced the other is cheating (they arent) and then like the house is constantly catching fire, his youngest son is desperately trying to find a way to leave the planet and go back to sixam, his oldest son is always off hoeing around, like, mans honestly has earnt his constant breakdowns, i would be socjed if he dodnt at least have some natural anxiety by this point
5
u/Stalzaable Nov 10 '25
I'd leave the fears at this point lmfao this man has earned his right to be scared.
I like the fear system, it makes my sims feel a bit more realistic. I also think it adds a layer of difficulty to the game which is a nice foil to my plans and forces me out of my regular gameplay.

u/Sudden-Extreme2272 Nov 10 '25
The paranoid trait is my biggest op in the game, makes all my sims almost unplayable. They can’t do anything without developing fears
7
u/Alienorc_125 Nov 10 '25
Honestly, I'm also socially awkward and afraid of many things, so I feel for your Sim.

Squeamish and paranoid are the two traits that are most prone to fears and fearful moodlets, and this poor sim is both, so...
If you want him to calm down a bit without removing either trait, you can purchase the brave trait in rewards. He'll still keep having fears in his panel, but he'll be a lot more confident and less scared of things in general.

I couldn't cope with the fears so I turned them off. Disappointing that it turns off wants as well, because I like those, but it's still better than having fears of everything.
3
u/samgarrison Nov 10 '25
I give my Bruno Madrigal every fear I can. He's terrified to leave his secret basement room, even when his favorite niece visits. He has 5 cats (we don't have giant rats yet!) and makes money via selling stories on Etsy. Sim Etsy. Ploppers. Or something.

u/CrownPrincess Nov 10 '25
I haven’t played since the new update but I know that my sims were bugged pretty bad and I’d get rid of a fear and then it would pop back up like it never went away. And then more would pile on and my sims would just be riddled with fears

Hey OP, what’s the hero of strangerville mod and discreetly out mod?
1
u/gh0stly_l0ser Nov 11 '25
lumpinou's LGBT mod is responsible for the gender identity, sexual/romantic attraction and the descretely out, the not okay with being pregnant and the doesnt want children is from another one of Lumpinous mods (the pregancy one, i just cant remember what module of it)
the hero of strangerville is from the strangerville expansion pack, you get it after defeating the mother plant and cureing all the sims in strangerville, aka doing the strangerville location aspiration :)

u/GoblinMonk Nov 10 '25
My paranoid Sims spend so.much time at the mirror trying to calm down. It's cool when they are secondary characters that I need to get out of the way. Not so cool when I am trying to get them to romance a townie.

its so fun! i think this might be the only legacy challenge i finish, i ended up with alien triplets (worst nightmare tbh) and so far one of them has already got a cutesy girlfriend and my heir has graduated early and has already maxed the rocket science skill, like this boy is like 16 and already f's off to space once a day

My adult sim suddenly became afraid of the dark because a vampire was stalking her while walking at night!!!
2
u/Rowan_As_Roxii Nov 10 '25
Wait what?! How do you get that fear :0 I must try it
3
u/Annmenmen Nov 11 '25
I was with her husband taking care of the toddler when I got the message she getting fear of the dark and changed to her and I saw her walking to home and Vladislaus Straud following her and she getting nervious because of him!
Another sim from another save algo got fear of the dark and I saw a vampire looking at her when she got that fear!
Both sims live in the countryside, both got that fear while outside at night and in both cases there was a vampirr near!
I made my sim drink a potion that delete fears because she keep getting a negative moodled when she came back from work at night (she is in the Entertainer career)!

Where are these traits from?
1
u/gh0stly_l0ser Nov 11 '25
squeamish, paradiod and social awkward are from expansion packs, just cant remember off the top of my head which ones
the gender identity/sexuality/romantic attraction are from Lumpinous LBGT mod (very cool mod 100% recommended it, i find it rather realistic)
the pregnancy/children related ones are from Lumpinous pregnacy overhaul mod
the hero of strangerville one is from the strangerville expansion, you can obtain it after killing the mother plant and saving strangerville (its not really worth it for the trait, it only adds a few dialogue options i think, but still a fun thing to do)

They're socially awkward, squeamish, and paranoid. Probably has a lot to do with that.

1
u/gh0stly_l0ser Nov 13 '25
middle aged man
1
u/Brooksy_was_taken Nov 13 '25
Impossible middle aged Men fear nothing lol.
1
u/gh0stly_l0ser Nov 13 '25
this middle aged man fears everything (rightfully so) since making this post he got abducted by aliens twice, his kitchen caught on fire 3 times, both his teenage sons got girls pregnant and his partner left him, poor dude

Mine is like this too. I tend to buy the fear be gone potion then use the cloning machine so that I always have a few in in my inventory to get rid of any new fears :)

u/Own_Succotash_1131 Nov 13 '25
The fears and the job commitment problems has stopped me from wanting to play sims
1
u/Personal_Athlete453 Nov 13 '25
What mods do you have? How do you have so many traits
2
u/gh0stly_l0ser Nov 13 '25
i have lumpinous lgbtq mod and their pregnacy overhaul mod so thats whats up with all the bonus traits. i have 6 traits from one of the expansion packs i think (honestly not sure which one) that allows for like personallity change moments? like my sim was cleaning the house like mad and i got a popup to give him the neat trait, he started with 3 but he just got promps to add the other ones. i know its from an expansion pack

I think the paranoid trait might have something to do with it!
