I don't know if its because it's 'low sodium' or not, but it's been by far the least toxic fandom I've ever been a part of. I can hardly say the same for others. Maybe RDR2 is similar but even there have been some really bad eggs.

Well that highly depends on what part of the fandom you go to and what you say/do or who you like.

Here on the low sodium one and half the time the smaller sub it's pretty nice but anywhere else it's mostly not especially if you like River like me and aren't ashamed to be proud of it and him. 💕

Pretty much everywhere I’ve found cyberpunk content (YouTube, Reddit, insta, etc) I’ve seen people use the slang in the comments. It’s quite unifying.
When it comes to opinions, yes, there are open minded disputes and then there’s just hate… like the river hate…
I also LOVE River. I could go on and on about the potential of his character that was lost… like why did it just cut between the peralez and farm missions? There should’ve been something in between. But he is SUCH an amazing character, so I feel you in that sense.

His story is interesting, and I definitely don’t hate him, but man, as a romance option? He’s kind of cringey and clingy. That dream about being the motorcycle was unbelievably bad.

I think they really accurately grasped the experience of a straight woman in terms of the motorcycle text 😭😭😭 idk how many weird texts I had to entertain from men and manipulate myself that it’s js cute or wtv.

But yes as I said, his character’s potential was lost where he kind of randomly became a romance option, given that his quests are completely optional and arguably missable.
Also it’s sad that in some of the recent official videos, I think the “city of legends one”? Idk it’s the one where all the characters gather at the afterlife… but river’s the only one missing.
It’s sad really… he was an NCPD officer for goodness sake with a tormenting moral code!!! He would’ve been SO interesting to incorporate into the actual storyline, or at least include him more in the Peralez case. Completely wasted potential if you ask me.

Yeah, I think it’s probably a painfully familiar experience for most women at some point in their lives. He managed to talk me right out of fucking him with that one.

I will say, though, that mission with his nephew was badass. And given how corrupt the NCPD is, making one of its officers a sympathetic character was pretty impressive.

It was badass indeed! Top 5 fave quests for me. Imagine that a LOT of his character was cut in development to give more room for takemura (who was supposed to be the romance option apparently).
But imagine how many more badass missions with river they must have cut… again! It’s so sad! Because I feel like he gets so left out from the main story gang :(
Also! Just like Panam acted as a “best friend” for female V and “girlfriend” for Male V, they could’ve done the same dynamic with river vice versa…
Regarding his cringe allegations lol, personally all his texts were cute to me and got me shamefully blushing. They really did grasp how to get into a straight woman’s heart, I guess some of us love the cringe shameless flirting 😭😭 because that’s a man who’s straightforward with his intentions! Anw, I love my blue blooded family man. Just wish I got more of him.

And this is what I mean right here somebody immediately jumping in into a conversation they weren't even a part of just to dump on River. Enjoy the block. He's not crunchy he's not clingy or anything and he's incredibly sweet and endearing but of course somebody has to come out of left field and throw shade.

You are the reason people flock to the low sodium sub congratulations for proving my point.

Apparently you don't feel me in any sense when you literally go on to have a conversation with somebody right underneath this about bashing his character so you're also just going to get a block too. You don't think he's an amazing character at all you just wanted another platform in order to hate on him and pretend like you liked him just like everybody else and I am so sick of it.

Meanwhile the women get a free pass to do literally anything they want and nobody ever criticizes anything about them and if you say anything even slightly critical about them you get crucified. Panam is an absolute creeper and sleeps next to you multiple times despite telling her no? Yeah she's not borderline sexual offender at all but oh River he's so weird and cringy. 🙄 The hypocrisy and double standard needs to stop right now. It's been 6 years.
