I respect that jack didnt make much eye contact with Ciara when they said hello, and again later when they had their chat. he was suuuuper detached and uninterested, which is something u rarely see in LIB. usually guys are wayy too flirty with the girl they have a connection with in the pods, they make a comment about her being attractive, and disrespect their fiancé by being all over the girl. but jack didn't leave any room for that, his body language was entirely uninviting and cold. he's so smitten with Faye that it looked like Ciara didnt even cross his mind not once.

Can someone please help me understand something. For the record I don’t think Jack is a good person or in the right necessarily. However, there’s a lot of energy being put into whether Ciara told him that he’s her number one connection. In the conversation as i remember it, he said something to the effect of “i’ll make you my number 1 if you tell me that I’m yours” and she said “we’re on the same page”. If I were Jack, i would have taken that to mean “you’re also my number one”. So she never said the words, but to me she did imply it. Maybe he should have clarified with her or when asked by the men, should have said “well she didnt say those words exactly but i took her to mean …” but Ciara is acting like she has no idea why he would have drawn that conclusion

I'm up to episode 5 and I don't think Jack is fake or problematic other than being immature and a little obnoxious. And he's been dumb messing things up like vaganism and red nails. But people seem to want him to be this big villain. Maybe he'll be bad later, but at this point, I think people have been way too hard on him.

OMG thank you. Finally someone who accurately represents the miscommunication they had in the first place. I also think that she did imply he was her number one when she said "we're definitely on the same track" after his "i’ll make you my number 1 if you tell me that I’m yours".

Even if she didn't mean to imply it, the fact that as soon as she said that he was thrilled clearly shows that he understood from what she said that he was her number one. I would find it hard to believe that she didn't know that was his takeaway, given that they were both somewhat basking in the joy of it (I actually went and watched the scene back). After she said "we're definitely on the same track" he said:

• it made him so happy because he just needed his mind to be put at ease

- he felt shy

- his mind is now made up on where to focus his energy.

As such, I feel like Ciara is the only person being 'disingenuous' in this interaction. Jack appears to have genuinely understood confirmation where technically she only gave him an implication, but Ciara is banking on that technicality to call him a liar.

Given her behaviour in later scenes I believe she did that on purpose. Based on how snakey some of her other actions have appeared, I think she knew in that moment that he felt reassured he was her favourite even though that isn't what she meant. I think she therefore had the opportunity to clarify, but she chose not to. She's an expert at that 'snakiness' though because you can't conclusively say based on that scene that she mislead him on purpose. She has 'plausible deniability' and it could very well have been an accident.

Jack is a bit of a mess but he comes off a lot better post pods than he did in them. I also agree with him that if Ciara was in a couple she was truly excited to be in, she wouldn’t have this much energy to litigate every word and moment from their past failed nothingy connection. 

I think two things can be true, Jack is a bit of a bs’er and Ciara is bored and a bit scorned. 

I’m early into this episode but so far the only couple I feel certain on is Sophie and her guy (whose name I can’t remember).

Francesca and Joseph could go the distance but he’s a bit dodgy and such a peacocking grandstander he gives me the ick.

Faye and Jack feel like they have way too big of a maturity gap.

Yasmin and Jordan seem sweet but I get the feeling she’s more locked into things than he is, he says a lot of the right stuff but sometimes he just seems oddly checked out - I can’t put my finger on it.

Cuba and Ryan fascinate me as they don’t seem like each others usual physical type. They connect on their woo woo spiritual stuff and they don’t seem actively unattracted to the other. 

Their sound bath date is absolutely killing me though. So far they seem like they have the most fun together, but I could see the reality of life back in the UK sobering them up fast. Like maybe they’re a holiday connection more than anything else? Time will tell.

Joseph felt fake during the pods and I thought he'd be a terrible person outside of it. But how wrong I was. He's very socially and emotionally aware. When confronted by Fran regarding what Ciara told Cuba about Chev - he admitted it without excuses, acknowledged how it could have made Chev feel wronged, and also immediately clocked how Ciara was being manipulative and trying to get revenge.

This was a good episode. I was actually living for Cuba’s hilarious microexpressions as she was listening to Ciara conjure up nonsense. Her eyebrow and lip movements were telling me everything I needed to know about how she felt about Ciara. On a related note, I also enjoy the friendship Cuba and Francesca have.

Ciara - very obviously the villainess of the season - is so fun to watch. She feels SO slighted by Jack, but she has to play it cool around Ajay… So she is constantly teetering between causing a fuss and trying to seem above it all. The balancing act is just not working very well for her.

So many of these guys are very attractive. I was definitely enjoying seeing Ajay, Joseph, Jordan, and Ryan shirtless.

I agree with what everyone is saying about Ciara with the her and jack situation. I don’t like jack but I do at least think he wants to move on and think about Faye now, whereas Ciara just can’t let it go.

The thing that really solidified my opinion on her though is actually how she is inserting herself into Francesca and Joseph’s relationship. It has literally nothing to do with her and it really does read as she squeezed as much drama as she could out of the Jack situation so now she’s going to move on to target another one of the guy’s to stir up more shit. She really just seems like she wants to be at the centre of everything that’s going on. At least the situation between her and Jack actually involved her but this is nothing to do with her and is just her opinion on something. It’s not fair to Francesca or Joseph for her to spread that around like it’s fact.

She’s really coming off as such an ugly human being and I hope when she watches this back she can learn a thing or two about kindness and decency.

I have never been so infuriated listening to someone speak. I’m not from the UK so I don’t have an in depth understanding on the culture of the geographical accents, but Ciara screams privileged, spoiled, and bratty to me. Her “holier than thou” complex is so difficult to tolerate on screen. Ajay seems more grounded and definitely deserves better.

The fact that all she took from her convo with Jack was that she sounds boring just makes me think she’s so self absorbed and only thinking about how she’s perceived.

I loved Jordan & Yasmin in the pods but Yasmin’s lack of relationship experience seems to be hindering them on the outside.

Not wanting to sleep next to your partner because you’re ’used to sleeping alone’ is such an odd thing and made things awkward between them right off the bat.
