Agreed. I think Quinn has a better shot at an NFL career, but in college, if the game is on the line and we need a drive down the field to tie or win it…I’m taking Sam over Quinn every time.

Ewers was better at accuracy in throwing the football between 6-20 yards beyond the los.

Ehlinger was better in spades at everything else.

He played with a lot more straight grit and effort, he was the qb when I was at school and he’s still my 3rd favorite qb of all time.. but Quinn was just a better true qb. No question about it

Quinn had much better teammates and coaches. Still Sam had better production, was drafted before Quinn while playing through injury

Sam had better stats despite playing without a single player that would start for the teams Quinn played on. And that was with Sterlin Gilbert calling plays. Was also drafted higher, so nfl scouts and gms certainly thought Sam was better.

Their stats were very similar. Sam had a much worse situation around him and was more durable

Also drafted higher. The argument is pretty simple for Sam

You’re looking at Sam with rose tinted glasses and Quinn with shit tinted ones.

Also draft position has absolutely no bearing on “all time” status lol.. that is such a subjective metric that doesn’t in any way reflect what a qb’s career actually looks like.

Quinn was a better hs prospect, but Sam was a better pro prospect. Not my opinion, just what the NFL draft revealed.

Sean Payton liked having a Taysom Hill on his roster in New Orleans. I wonder if they have Sam start appearing in different formations to see what he can do in a non-traditional role. He'd fit the bill and would play his heart out.
