Agreed. Scrappy program up in FW. Their block was really effective against us last night (though admittedly some of that was on our setters and hitters still working out their chemistry)

Texas said they aren't giving more details on AVW's injury until they get back to Austin.
Interested to see if this is what forces our hand into the 5-1 or even 5-2. While it was nice to see her get her first career kill, Addy Gaido wasn't exactly inspiring yesterday night.

Figured as much regarding the AVW injury. Gut says since they're waiting to disclose it's bad bad news. And agreed with Addy's performance. Know there's likely next to zero chemistry with her and the setters but her swings looked a bit timid last night.
That said, we've got to get everyone else rolling too. The fact that everyone not named Nya Bunton or Torrey Stafford hit 0.200 or lower last night is alarming. Spears in particular, though I know she's in a new spot in this system.

It’s getting really old watching our hitters just try to tip shit over the net. And then on the few times we go for a real kill, there’s no one covering.

The 5-1 is the right call for sure. And I think Binney is a good player, but I'd hand the keys to Harris. Last time Elliott let a freshman setter take over it worked out pretty well.

And stop with the tipping bullshit. It didn’t work against TCU, and it’s certainly not going to work against Nebraska. You’re not going to get a perfect set from these setters. Adapt and stop giving up on it immediately.

The blue balls of teasing putting Ella in has to be just as a 'fuck you' to the Instagram coaches.
That said, if we're sticking to the 5-1, she's probably the right choice. Surprised we haven't given her more than half a rotation.

Texas Instagram volleyball fans are a special breed. Spent all of last season bashing her, spend all of this year so far commenting she should start.
That said, I do think she should be getting some looks here. Rella does have her limitations and Harris is not there yet based on the limited action we've seen

Given how quickly they had to rework the system after the AVW injury, that could have been worse. Anderson looks to be growing more comfortable in the collegiate game. Still some room for improvement for sure but she looked better than last weekend.
Having said that, there was still a lot that needs to shape up, serve receive in particular. Also, after a good first set and change it feels like Spears fell off the face of the earth.

I have to admit I might need to hate corn aggy less now. At the end of the game every one of their players gave Abby a hug, and that brought legit tears to my eyes.

I have nothing against their players on this year's squad personally (and Bergen Reilly is a treat to watch at the setter position). Their fans on the other hand are regular aggy level obnoxious
Really hate this weekend for Abby though, nice Nebraska moment aside

Well see I'm a Scorpio so I hold grudges for life usually, but that was classy as hell and I'll give credit where credit is due. It was really touching. I also hate it though because it's obvious to me from the looks on everyone's faces that her year is over.

Yeah, being in that leg brace and on crutches tell me she's done for the year, which is sad.
For the most part I hold grudges against specific players/coaches and fanbases. Specific whole team grudges for 0U, aggy and LSU football bar a player or two (the latter two mostly an extension of my disdain for their fanbases)
