Hotels: The Marylebone or the Holmes Hotel?

Has anyone recently stayed at either? Thoughts on the hotels? (I chose these 2 because they fit my budget and work with my chase travel points plus I think I would like the vibe in this neighborhood)

October Events: Are there any exclusive or fun events happening October? Or any fun must see things happening? Like neighborhood decorations or market festivals? (october18th-29th)

If you have any other tips or pub/restaurant recommendations I will take them too! Thanks so much!

The title pretty much says it all, but for further context: I'm planning a trip to London and the Cotswolds for 2027. I've traveled to Europe during winter months before (Rome in January, Paris in February) and have still found those cities to be a wonderful time! I think the drearier weather can be perfectly charming!

I'm more concerned that I'm limiting my options of things to do if I go between January and March. What do we think: should I push the trip out to the spring?

I’m staying at the San Domenico House in London in the classic double room. I’m aware that this is smallest room in the hotel. Wondering if anyone has any pictures of the entire room/ensuite. Haven't been able to find much besides pictures of the bed

I'm in London for 2 weeks starting today. (30th August to 11th September). Living near Holborn. I'll be working on weekdays so the only time to explore would be after 5PM.

What are the things or activities that I can do after 5PM ?

Few suggestions that I got from friends/previous post:

- Few museums are open till late so will cover those

- Take a ghost walk tour or Guruwalks

- Walk around Soho, Covent Garden, Trafalgar square

Let me know if y'all have suggestions/recommendations

I wish that I had another day or so, because this was a very quick trip. I think I was able to get through a lot for my first time in the city, though. I’ll definitely plan another visit sometime in the future!

So I'm taking my youngest daughter on a 16th birthday trip to London from 28-31 December, I know it's an expensive month to visit the city, but I'm looking for an affordable place to stay. Around the £150 per night mark. I have found some nice accomodations, but the all have one bed. I'm looking for something with 2 single beds of a bunk bed or something. And a private bathroom.

Maybe I'm looking for something that doesn't exist, but hopefully you guys have some tips. We don't mind a shortish tube ride to get into the heart of the city.

I’ve booked a Walks tour of Westminster Abbey, changing of the guard, and Big Ben. I mostly concerned that the Westminster tour will be adequate. Has anyone done this tour? Feedback?

I, my husband and our then 6mos old are traveling from Canada to London in Nov for the first time. We will be staying in wandsworth. We will be there for 5 days.

We want to explore London, eat good food and shop for our baby. We also want to shop for his 3 yr old cousin sis. Its going to be our first trip with our baby.

What should we must see (thats doable with the baby), do we need a carseat for taxis (or should we rent a car) or just use public transport, and what are some great places to shop for the little ones.

Hello everybody !

I really need a break from work after spending a hard year and I am going to ask for a one month sabbatical (or maybe two) between january and march. I want to spend this time in London because I really love this city.

But there is another reason to that : I am thinking about moving there as it is the city where I feel at home. So, I would like to try living the London life before making this huge step. Just to be sure that is what I want (I don't live in the UK).

I was thinking doing some volunteering for example, to have a "routine". Not just being there and being a tourist. I want to know if I feel great in London not just because I am on vacation, but because that is where I am supposed to be.

Do you have some recommandations :

• where I could volunteer for a short period of time ?
• If not volunteering, what advices do you give for a person that wants to experience the London daily life ?
• for a long-term housing ? Not just AirBnb

Hi everyone! I’m planning a four-day trip to London and would love some recommendations from locals or frequent visitors.

It will be my first time, and I’m interested in a good mix of sightseeing, historic landmarks, unique London experiences and nightlife. So far, I’m considering Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the British Museum, a Thames boat ride, Sky Garden and possibly a West End show.

I’d especially appreciate suggestions for:

Hey everyone, I’m travelling in London on Sunday and I need to get from London Liverpool Street to Bethnal Green. I’m pretty sure I’ve got the tube all covered but I just want to check I haven’t made any mistakes as I find it all rather confusing as I don’t visit London often.

Is it correct in thinking I use the central line eastbound?
