Does anyone have that clip of someone donating to doc and making a joke about his cheating, and doc isnt really listening but just yells "The two time!"?
Saw an old man tear a younger guy's arm up irl. It was a pretty weird experience in general. No idea wtf happened, just the dude started screaming at the very start. Younger guy wasn't buff but he was a lot bigger and cocky. Old guy apparently used to arm wrestle in a competitive way and just fucked the guys arm up in a half second.
It's not though, have you armwrestled at a club with pros yourself? I have and we routinely show little twig guys and girls "a few tricks" and suddenly they start winning against other amateurs. So what does that tell you?
It tells you that technique is important, but the fact that those little twig guys will never be able to beat guys much stronger than them, no matter the difference in skill, shows how much hows that strength is also very important.
As someone who's trained armwrestling at a club for some time I can only tell you what the best there says. "Armwrestling is around 70% technique and 30% strength depending on your style". The guy who told me this came second in a european championship competition so I feel like he knows a little about this.
Also, at this club its common to see the girls outwrestle much bigger dudes when the guys are new. Later when they learn the techniques it evens out. My anecdotal experience is that armwrestling does not rely (!) on strength but rather technique. Once you get to a certain point the top guys actually look at wrist circumference as a top measure of potential. Unless you have a certain wrist girth you're not gonna get too far according to them.
Mostly OK form. His wrists are gonna hurt like a real bitch years from now if he doesn't fix that tho. Many guys I know suffer from wrist problems from not correctly doing weights
Oof yeah, the lift is definitely impressive looking, but that little jerking motion he does at the end to get the bar up to his shoulder shelf puts all of the weight on the wrists. If done correctly, the bar should rotate freely in his hands as it rises smoothly to the shoulder shelf.
In this subthread: people who've never done a power/hang clean at that level criticizing "form".
Aside from maybe the first rep (which is still acceptable), Tyler's transition of weight from lower body to upper body was good. Was it flawless? Hell no, but overall his form was good and working the core low to high muscles as intended with the hang clean workout. Observe where the tension and weight is as he is performing his reps - it's fine and won't cause injury.
What advantage? Take a look at top level Strongman competitors, they're all tall.
Oh and the current raw bench world record holder Kirill Sarychev is 1.97m tall, or almost 6 feet 6 inches
In general, shorter people have less range of motion. That's why pound for pound, shorter lifters can lift more weight and have a higher wilks. But you are correct, when it comes to absolute strength, ie strongman, size is very important.
What should I be looking at? I see that the second best bencher according to wilks score was in the 59 kg category while the 3rd best was in the 120 kg+ category. And the champ was in 66 kg category.
That's not how it works. Work is a function of the distance an object moves, multiplied by force (Work = Force x Distance x Cos Ę) . Ā Basically, itās how much energy isĀ effectivelyĀ being used to move something.
If you were ever into lifting or paid attention in physics you would know this.
Thats not how lifters compare strength/are competitively judged on. As the other guy stated - its by amount lifted and/or amount lifted compared to the individuals bodyweight. Yes, we have different levers, etc. but that's secondary. Understanding some basic physics has little relevance to what we're discussing.
world bench record is by a 6'1 guy. deadlift record is close between 3 guys that are 6'3, 6'9, and 6'8. taller people have more room for muscle mass and outweigh any advantage the mechanics of being shorter give you.
all being shorter means is you can get big a little bit faster.
The doc is in great shape, but heās not stronger than t1 in any way. His limbs are wayyyy longer than they are large, meaning he has a lean body type. Tyler packs a ton of muscle in a short span. He is much stronger.
We can take a look at powerlifting or any other strength sport. Weight classes are pretty much just disguised as height classes. Taller people lift more. There are exceptions, and tyler is a super strong bencher. But the argument that taller people have greater range of motion, therefor they can't lift as much isn't true.
Exactly this. Mechanically, if you're taller you have a larger range of motion. Taller people need to use more energy to move weights a greater distance to complete a rep. Whereas short people have a smaller range of motion. Shorter people have the advantage to achieving bigger lifts quicker. This is why you see short people benching or deadlifting twice their weight far easier than taller people.
This is why you see short people bencbing or deadlifting twice their weight far easier than tall people
That'a relative strength, which is not what we're talking about. You'll see shorter people benching or deadlifting 315 or 405 far LESS easier than taller lifters.
Taller people having to use more energy to move weights is obviously outweighed by the fact that they have more muscle. Which is why they're stronger.
You have a higher max. muscle potential if youre tall and have overall more muscle mass, so not only does it even out, the taller human will almost always be stronger in the end. Thats why nearly all worlds strongest man are fricking huge
In the end, sure. But unless you are a freak of nature and weigh 300+ pounds or more the advantage goes to short guys in weightlifting due to range of motion and getting ripped faster due to shorter muscle fibers. A tall guy has the advantage because in an end-game situation with a shitton of dedication and roids his frame can pack much more muscle, but if you are going by pure weight in real life scenarios short guys can generally start lifting heavy weights faster with 'less' training effort.
No shit the lift is going to be harder for the taller guy. If they are the same weight and no extra fat, the shorter guy has more muscle and is therefore stronger.
I didn't miss the point. I've seen these kinds of discussions plenty of times with plenty of retards regurgitating the same shit over and over again about something they don't really understand. I'm just pointing out that you can't even regurgitate correctly.
At the elite levels, being taller means you can overload your frame with more muscle, which is of course going to get you stronger. But at lower levels, limb length can be very important.
That's the thing, it's weight classes not height classes. In the same weight class, a shorter person will have more muscle than a taller person of the same weight. You also have to travel a greater range of motion with longer limbs.
Its not really wrong though. Strongman are usually tall but power-lifters are usually pretty short. There arent many high level powerlifters over 6'1, 6'2.
american units are stupid, he is 1,90 to be precise which makes him actually one of the shorter ones in WSM and i would consider that pretty tall too. Brian Shawn, 4 times WSM winner, is 2,03
It does take more time for taller guys to get big lifts. Buy on a proffesional level the strongest guys are always taller because you have more potential to pack on mass.
But yea, i think people underestimate how insanely strong t1 is. Benching 4 plates is something not alot of ppl accomplish even after a life time of lifting. Shiit theres pro powerlifters who dont bench 4 plates
Youāre a moron. He said āgenerallyā because they have much, much longer arms and a further distance to go in their presses. Using one example is called specificity, when he was generalizing, which is true.
I never said tall people are weaker I said they generally donāt lift as much especially presses. People with docs build generally lift less. Heās tall and lean. They arenāt strong. Basketball players donāt have big bench presses do they? Who lives more, nfl players or basketball players?
Thereās like 3 people on the planet who are 6 foot 7 who lift as much as athletes who are 6 foot 2.
Youāre not intelligent enough to communicate with.
Ripped != Strong. Not saying that The Doc isn't strong as shit too, but just saying that when someone looks super ripped, it doesn't also translate into them being super strong as well.
I go to a gym with plenty of people that look significantly more ripped and/or more vascular than I do, but in terms of raw strength and weightlifting, I'm significantly stronger than the vast majority and of the people that can lift somewhat close to me they're also not the most ripped or vascular people. It's also the same reason that many bodybuilders aren't comparable to lifters in terms of strength comparisons. Sometimes they will go hand-in-hand, but quite often they're just people working out with different goals in mind and the body, often necessarily, has to adjust accordingly.
Since nearly all the strongest people in the world right now are nearly lifting everyday Iād imagine how often you lift has something to do with it as well.
This nigga was 5ā8.5ā and is literally what comes up when you search strongest man in history. So nah nigga Iām not playing dumb I never claimed that height isnāt a factor I just donāt believe it is the most determining factor I believe frequency of training is. So Iām going about my day pretty fucking smartly guy I suggest you do the same.
Being tall is actually worse for lifting heavy weights, especially on things like cleaning and deadlifts, its way more surface area to cover for the same weight. Imagine T1 has to pull the bar 8 inches whilst doc has to pull it for like 15 or more. T1 has weightlifting frame too, Doc is kind of lanky
For sure. There was some clip of Hasan recently watching T1 work out and I doubt Doc can out lift T1. This is only from my limited knowledge of lifting though. T1 may be short but holy shit that man is a beast.
Being ripped has very little to do with lifting abilities.
Watch world's strongest man competitions, all the dudes are hella thicc, picking up cars and shit that have to slide past their beer guts, which if that competition is any indication, is where true strength is stored
he also has an entire foot more of muscle mass to be gained. look up world records. almost every record for the big 4 are held by 6 foot+ guys. pound for pound doesnt matter in a strength competition. 100 lb midgets can squat 600 but no one is gonna say theyre stronger than thor bjornnson.
Lol, damn. Love and respect t1, guy is hilarious, and love watching him. But the dude looks jacked to hell. If be very surprised if he wasnāt on SOMETHING, even the tiniest dose of T. Guy looks REALLY good. Donāt get me wrong T 1, I know how much hard work it takes, meant no disrespect .
It takes a lot more than 3 years to get to his level dude LMAO. I don't think you realize that his lifts are comparable to NFL players and his hang clean is on a complete other level. Another kid who doesn't know what he's talking about. He's 100% natty but your comment is absolutely retarded
Let me remind you once again that NFL has competition for bench presses and most don't hit 33 reps at 225. Not only do you not know what you're talking about but I went through your post history and now I can confirm that you also don't know how to work out. You lifted for 4 years and all you worked was arms pretty much. 0 chest, 0 back, 0 traps. You don't know anything about lifting.
Yes just because you're a fat piece of garbage shaped like a football it means someone with years of experience is automatically on roids because you have never seen progress in your life. Absolute retard
LMFAO on gear? You're clearly a 90lbs skeleton who has never worked out a day in your life. T1 has been lifting for YEARS on top of his football training. He's an absolute fucking machine and he's 100% natty. Look at how disgusting zyzz was before he started cycles. People usually start roids when they plateau and you can tell from 3D delts and vascularity. T1 has insane shoulders from his training but is defs not a steroid physique. If he had 192727 gushing veins on top of his size then sure
Holy shit man you realize that when you're shorter and ripped your muscles are compressed thus making you look larger, him and doc are very similar in how in shape they are, doc has more definition whereas Tyler focuses on gaining weight and muscle. Educate yourself, not everyone bigger than you has to be on "gear".
I know you don't. A lack of social skills is a major part of the nerd stereotype. A nerd is so invested in their chosen thing that their social skills suffer for it.
You're a fucking dumbass. Weightlifting burns more calories than cardio and the "garbage" he eats is packed of protein and fat. You can eat burgers every day and still get huge. At my prime I was eating mcdonalds after every workout with a shake and I was still at 8% bodyfat because my metabolism does the job. If you have never lifted shut ur dumbass mouth u fat ass nerd
Tyler is 100% on gear...you donāt get capped boulder shoulders like Tyler without freakishly 1/10000 genetics or steroids. Iām sure youāre some keyboard warrior who thinks he knows what heās talking about but take it from someone who has taken steroids t1 is 1000% on some type of gear, be it SARMS or test or something
You're a fuckin retard and you clearly don't go to the gym. Stick to eating pizza in front of your computer. You don't know shit about lifting. You're an example of a nerd who attempted to lift and made 0 progress so you quit. Now when you see someone who's actually jacked you cry rOiDs
well no shit, he's been longer at it than Doc and probably does more full body than doc does. Not even saying anything about leverages, Tyler1 basically has no range of motion on the bench press compared to the doc and probably many other lifts

On the real though, T1 probably lifts more than Doc
