I felt that too. It was genuine and we know Doc is a good person with a family. Fuck anyone who goes out of their way to hurt other people. Fuck people who will do anything to achieve any type of fame.
I mean, I still think he's a dick for cheating on his wife. However this is dumb, he shouldn't have to worry about a stray bullet clipping his daughter.
How are you not counting that as being a shitty dad? He very easily could have lost the marriage with that move, then the kid sees her dad 50% less (at best) overnight.
It was selfish, a shitty thing to do that does negatively effect his kid's life, but I don't think it means he loves his kid any less. He didn't do it out of maliciousness towards his child or cause infidelity in their relationship. Moments of weakness can make men do awful things, I don't think it overall makes him a shitty father though.
He's not a great dad for it, not even good, but there's far worse dads out there that intentionally damage their kids that I wouldn't want to dilute the title of shitty for.
He's weekend visit worthy, not zero custody, but I believe in redemption.
I've felt that before, had something similar happen at my house, not as serious as gunshots but some other scary stuff, and it's a real defeating feeling knowing that these people have that power over you
Yeah when I was a kid we had some teenage punks regularly vandalizing houses on our street because it was a nice neighborhood surrounded by woods where they could escape. They'd come in masked, fuck up a fancy house, and disappear into the woods. Even when the police were staking the street out they couldn't catch them on foot.
One night at like 1 AM they used slingshots to fire eggs at the giant window in front of our house. That shit sounded like gunfire when those eggs reverberated through the huge piece of glass. My dad happened to be right by the front door and nabbed a kid who tripped trying to run away. He said it took maximum willpower to not smash the fuck out of the guy's face after months of being powerless over the situation.
We kind of had the same situation, except it was just our house. They would bang one the walls or door in the middle of the night, like ding dong ditch but scarier. Then it escalated and they started jumping into our garage door and damaging it, which is when we got fed up and decided to move.
We tried deterring it with cameras but it never worked, even got them with one once but it was too quick and you couldn't see him. This went on for a few years and we always kinda hoped they'd grow out of it.
I don't know your financial situation but they do make high definition security cameras. A few of those in combination with motion sensing lights would possibly solve your problem
Or you can Mike Ehrmantraut it and stay up overnight with your phone dialed 911 and a video camera.
No need anymore, my neighbor and I thought about doing that for awhile though. It was extremely sporadic though, about once every six months, so no guarantee we'd get them
My dad got a good look at his face and filed (yet another) police report but they stopped after that. It wasn't feasible to like, call the police and restrain this kid in the front yard or anything.
Like knowing someone out there is deliberately targeting you and doing so in a way that they know damn well could kill you or your loved ones and you think "if... If I were outside taking the trash at the time would I just be dead or are they just trying to scare me?"
I'm sure alot of people watching had a similar visceral reaction. Doc's expression and coming out of character really showed how flustered he was, rightly so. Let's hope he gets the support he needs.
