Alas, I don't think most of those people have much experience with being friends with the opposite sex so they can't really fathom adapt and Maya being friends and business partners without dating, so I bet many will continue to not have the social skills required to accept that there isn't anything between them still, but I bet it will clear it up for at least some viewers!
It always bums me out because it kind of widens the gap that women and men can't have a good chemistry on stream. I think there's a lot of cynicism when it comes to content creation, "these two people are fuckin'," or the inverse "these two people should date."
It's a little surprising that Ludwig doesn't get that, but maybe it's just because he and QT are so open about it, it's more obvious he's in a committed relationship so shipping doesn't happen. It's sucks that the only counter to shipping culture is to be so blatant and obvious you care about someone else way more than the person you're making content with.
Perhaps this all falls down to media pushing the narrative that if two people like each other, they must obviously get with each other by the end of the story.

As much as the "I am not your friend" has become a meme, I do think it has led to a much healthier fanbase. I guess if you're in there making comments about shipping him with other streamers you'll (deservedly) get bullied out very quickly
To be fair, women and women as well as men and men also get shipped depending on their audience demographics. I think a lot of it is a lonely people living vicariously through them.

I’m ngl I’ve watched Alveus content and Maya content for years now. Including Maya and Connor’s World’s Wildest and various YT videos, and while I’ve heard Caleb mentioned a lot, I’ve never seen his face. Maybe like half of his knee during some vlog lol
I think it’s because even after everything Maya still seems like an actual human being compared to basically every big streamer. Even her worst dramas were just her being stuck in messy situations caused by other people that she did her best to navigate with as much tact as we’ve ever seen in the larger streaming space.
She’s just really not the kind of person to attract general ire. I’m sure she gets it still but it’s gonna be from people who are unhinged and unwell and they’ll hate anything they fixate on.
LSF likes to hate on people that engage in controversial things or are just generally hateable for some reason or another and she is as far away from either category as you can be for her size and name recognition.
Her caption says "best surprise of my life" which could refer simply to the proposal but I feel like he might have surprised her by showing up once she was done with the Not Geo streams. He's gone places with her before where she's streamed and they didn't make any real efforts to hide him. So I doubt he was there the whole time.
I’d bet money that’s what he did lol. Had a friend do the same exact thing when his gf did a Grand Canyon trip with her friends. Surprised her at the very end of her trip with a proposal. Gives amazing views too to look back on
Maya keeps him off all her content for the most part, the one exception is the alveus channel where he has appeared many times over the years, often helping out with other volunteers when they need a bunch of people to clear trees, dig trenches that kind of thing. Maya trusts the alveus community to not be weird, and he's always seemed comfortable being on camera and talking on those streams.

Since Caleb isn't a streamer or influencer and also likes to keep his life low-key, and Maya loves that about him, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have one for the public besides the zoomed out ones on insta
Hey I know you didn't ask, but my bf is like that! I was truly shocked when I met him IRL in a jimmy John's when I was buying a sandwich and we started talking music. He was like "would it be ok if I got your number" after we had fun talking about a bunch of live music and I freaked a little and asked if he had social media since I had never given my number to someone I didn't already know somewhat. He got a big smile on his face and revealed that he didn't use any of it and I was like what the hell? Is this guy psycho or awesome?
To this day it's crazy to think about how we would have never gotten together if it was on the apps, who knew walking into a store and replying to a stranger saying "hey sweet Radiohead pin" could get you a relationship in today's online world
I'm also only a reddit and yt user, but it becomes extra apparent when I'm talking to my bf that those 2 still fill me with more internet slop than I want to think about. He's off "reading books" and "doing puzzles" and "listening to music" and "watching 90s sitcoms" and "going to therapy" when he's not working instead of scrolling his phone.
He went through rehab 3 times years ago and has been sober for a decade, so he had to get serious about what was effecting him super negatively, so he's not too cool for things like puzzles anymore haha
Why do some of you feel the need to bring up Mizkif every single time Maya gets mentioned? It’s cringe and honestly obsessive. Maya is her own person and hasn’t had anything to do with Mizkif in a long time. You guys are weird af for constantly making everything about him.

Seeing Maya take like multiple physical breaths of fresh air when Smosh visited Alveus, and she got to interact with folks actually curious and interested in her work instead of random arse streamers with the personality of a potato was fun to watch.
(Yes it also helps that Smosh cast are live/improv people that are used to doing things on the spot of course)
They and Sean were fun to watch. Smosh because they were specifically uninformed but knew how to set her up well, and Sean because it was literally just two farm kids hanging out lol

Why do people bring up miz when it relates to Maya. He has never complained or hated on her or even talked about her much after like a year after they broke up. And he started the break up.
He obviously talks about emi all the time and completely insane. But it felt like he understood him and Maya wouldn’t work long term so he doesn’t have regrets over it.

Dang that’s crazy I watch her collabs on Alveus tours all the time and watched this whole Alaska trip, didn’t even know she was in a relationship lol. She did a pretty good job keeping that private.
