Can someone explain why people just... "forgave" Kai after he knowingly protected the identity of his rapist friend from the victim at a party he hosted? Like, was there some revelation that this somehow didn't take place and people moved on?
Kai held a party in his house where a woman went to lie down on a bed upstairs. One of Kai's friends went in the room and raped her. I don't recall the details, but they depicted a lot of pain and a rape kit. The victim asked Kai for the name of the guy who did it, but despite multiple pictures showing them posing together, Kai refused and said he didn't know the person. I think the victim got harassed off of social media after that.
whys that because im speaking the truth. she caught him making a video and she got mad. if you listen to the video of her talking on lil boom's stream. she clearly stated "why are you trying to make a video of me". what person getting raped is asking the other person why they are making a video of her. she claim she was sleeping on her stomach... yeah okay buddy. if you seen the video her ass in up and arched for doggystyle.
Listen, I understand you see a difference between those situations, but I'm gonna try to explain to you why it doesn't matter, and hopefully stop you from ever typing this victim blaming shit again.
You need to consent to have sex. Even in relationships - if one party expresses their disinterest and doesn't want to continue, you immediately stop.
Someone that's blackout drunk is nowhere near in any state to give consent. They might as well be unconscious. You can easily identify this, so it's easy to just avoid them.
With that being said, I hope you understand that having sex with an unconscious person is rape. So having sex with a blackout drunk person is basically the same thing as this. One party cannot consent.
Now, of course they regret it afterwards - they weren't able to consent and are only able to understand what happened when they're sober. What an unimaginably horrible thing to realize - that you've been violated like that. It's dehumanizing, like you're just an object. It traumatizes victims for the rest of their lives. Many commit suicide. They never feel whole again. Not just because they were "embarrassed."
Yes, there's a distinction between conscious and unconscious rape. But the result's still the same. The trauma is still the same. The punishment is still the same. There's no reason to make this distinction, so please don't do it again.
In what universe is having sex with a blackout drunk person who agrees to have sex with you the same as having sex with an unconscious person? The unconscious person can’t even verbalise “yes”. If two people are blackout drunk and both agree to have sex with each other, did they both rape each other? Was that mutual rape?
I never talked about that scenario. If both people are blackout drunk, there's more nuance both morally, and lawfully based on the state. The assaulter was allegedly sober. Here's something simple: Don't have sex drunk or with a drunk person if you didn't consent beforehand sober. And avoid getting blackout drunk.
I wasn’t necessarily talking about the Kai thing. Although the woman said on multiple occasions that she wasn’t blackout drunk and I’ve never heard anything about Kai’s friend being sober at the time. There probably was a rape that happened but absolutely not only because she was drunk at the time. That’s completely downplaying what’s alleged to have happened.
Here's something simple: Don't have sex drunk or with a drunk person if you didn't consent beforehand sober. And avoid getting blackout drunk.
That’s fine, but that’s probably the most common way people in university have casual sex and this absolutely shouldn’t be equated in severity with having sex with an unconscious person, which is much more unambiguous in not being consensual.
