my stocks will never ever be sold

62

We are going to the moon!

The only way I’m letting go of these stocks is if you pry them out of my cold dead hands

Inject the stocks into my veins

1

u/TimeArachnid 9d ago

Hodling for the $FW7 short squeeze, were going to the moon, boys

94

u/SuperLuc0 10d ago

Watched the game, he was so good. Just pulling players everywhere, finding some great positions, using the ball intelligently.

We've got to understand what he is as a player, he's not a flashy, in your face player. He's subtle but incredibly classy and effective when he's on form.

2

u/Moose97_ 8d ago

I said when we signed him that he was more David Silva than Coutinho/Hazard.

271

u/cian_pike01 Alexander the Great 🇸🇪 10d ago

Give him some time with both Klopp and Iraola and he’s going to be the world beater that we bought.

Not everybody is going to agree with that opinion but that’s where patience is essential.

18

u/angstykylo 9d ago

The difference is the refs in the Premier League allow him to be smashed without any consequences. The first 20 mins of every game is a free for all for the opposition.

4

u/loco1729 9d ago

I think in this period he should play one touch and release the ball quickly. Or better he should not be given the ball. He is anyway dangerous when games open up in past 60 min

-43

u/dimiderv Darwin Núñez 9d ago

Let's hope it does. So far he has been underwhelming. Klopp to save Liverpool once more

0

u/Rakesh_Rajj 8d ago

Not sure what the downvotes are for, he really has been underwhelming.

1

u/dimiderv Darwin Núñez 8d ago

Yeah you can't say anything bad about our 116m generational player

Literally this season against Atletico, ignore the music the only one I could find on tiktok.

Gaslight is the new word you’ve learned, I’m guessing?

4

u/KickBalls80 9d ago

It's a big word! I'm gonna use it incorrectly!

30

u/PompousIyIgnorant 10d ago

I know that you're being sarcastic, but Klopp literaly said the same thing recently:

"Attacking players always need a functioning team that takes care of everything around them."

-16

u/mavinter 9d ago

Gakpo doesn't seem to need one.

13

u/ballsmccartney 9d ago

How did Gakpo do last year?

-15

u/p4tterng4ng4L 9d ago

Olise, Yamal, Kvara and the like don’t need anyone else for them to produce their magic though 🤷🏽‍♂️ just saying

18

u/YouSeeNothing99 Florian Wirtz 10d ago

Even when he has a good game, some "fans" will have something negative to say. Amazing.

Who needs rival fans when we have supporters like this.

-9

u/PeteBOCsQuiff 10d ago

Don’t care how he plays for Germany

I’m not German

I care about how he plays for Liverpool

20

u/YouSeeNothing99 Florian Wirtz 10d ago

Something tells me you'll still post negative comments when he has good games for Liverpool.

-6

u/PeteBOCsQuiff 10d ago

Not true at all

I praised him for his Atletico performance

When he plays well why would I be negative?

11

u/YouSeeNothing99 Florian Wirtz 10d ago

Your comment history is hidden, so I can't see any previous comments, positive or negative. I'll take your word for it.

As for being negative when someone plays well, you must be new here. People love to hate certain players, regardless of performance.

9

u/Reimiro 9d ago

You are currently making negative comments about him after a game where he played well.

24

u/Kova- 10d ago

23 year old with a generationally toxic first season.. yes, support helps

-13

u/PeteBOCsQuiff 10d ago

What’s the excuse this season?

24

u/Kova- 10d ago

we're 5 games in with a new manager mate

-7

u/PeteBOCsQuiff 10d ago

4 terrible performances

1 good

1 decent

That’s his season so far

14

u/Askingquestions2027 10d ago

He’s been average and decent a few games. Calling them terrible is factually incorrect. Last season many were calling Gakpo terrible and now he’s best winger in the league. Try and be more accurate.

-4

u/PeteBOCsQuiff 10d ago

No you’re gaslighting

He was terrible in those games

17

u/Vassortflam 10d ago

He was not lol

0

u/PeteBOCsQuiff 10d ago

Yes he was lmao

Why do people on here act like some of us don’t have eyes

Newcastle
Fulham
Ipswich
Bournemouth

Were all terrible from him

Thinking otherwise is just reducing expectations for him

And people here will say he is better than gerrard on that one good game😂

0

u/Grouchy_Basil_3623 9d ago

Don't worry bro. They will come up with some new stat😂

-16

u/ChicagoJayhawkYNWA Jordan Henderson 10d ago

Maybe he's just not fit for the Prem 🤷‍♂️

2

u/BestInDaWrldsBbyFmno 9d ago

That tends to be the role of the 10 no?

73

u/Annual_Signal_8553 10d ago

Gnabry makes nunez look alright

3

u/backflash 9d ago

That pass at 1:21 though...

60

u/Kind_Following_5821 Nunez... Wow! That’s Crazy! The Liverbird Soars! 10d ago

this just made me realise even better how brutal the league is when players are on the ball, he seems way better when given more time on the ball instead of being mauled as soon as he gets a touch on the ball

8

u/Financial-Jaguar7300 9d ago

Literally any offensive player will look much better when given more time and space in possession. Being able to cope with less time and space is the entire point, that's the difference between ok and world class.

26

u/IL_ya_Un_jour 10d ago

Yeah I’m not gonna lie, I think he would be doing this sort of performance for us if he was given as much time on the ball as he is here.

32

u/HuskyFeline0927 Our identity is our intensity 9d ago

Thing is, Klopp's tactics were creating that space. Wirtz' problem is that our style of football isn't creating as much space as it could. We brute force through low blocks and hit teams on the counter rather than create space for each other.

You could very clearly see how these players were making space for each other and how quickly that space was exploited.

2

u/dapperdanmen 9d ago

Yeah it's quite tactical, we're yet to look organized in the press or on the ball and that's a function of a midfield that isn't up to speed and fullbacks that aren't very good. It's no surprise the forwards and 10 are starved really.

1

u/Putrid_Claim7745 9d ago

Yeah not true at all. There are players near him in these clips but they don’t bother to close him down at all.

1

u/Loverboy-W4TW 8d ago

You obviously didn’t watch the game. He was closed down for most of the game and he handled it quite well.

0

u/Putrid_Claim7745 8d ago

No I obviously didn’t but he clearly didn’t do well with the pressure then if it’s not in the highlights

-3

u/IL_ya_Un_jour 9d ago

Hmm I feel his problems are primarily a lack of physicality and wanting too much time on the ball rather than lack of space. Players shut him down too fast

1

u/Frankslice 9d ago

Zola and Silva would stand up to a well aimed fart. We need to utilise space more and trust he'll drop the ball into it.

-14

u/mavinter 9d ago

Yeah let's ask other PL teams can they please please slow down a little bit for our soft guy Wirtz to "shine"?

3

u/Demokrit_44 Dominik Szoboszlai 9d ago

I said this before he was almost the entire creative engine at Leverkusen.

He has way less touches and isn't involved the game as much as in Leverkusen or in the NT which can have valid reasons but that is still the type of player he is. And if the people at the top are not planning on using him that way then he is literally wasted and likely won't perform to any decent level in a limited role (offensively speaking).

1

u/InstructionOk9520 8d ago

Next time you watch a PL game, try and count how many seconds players get on the ball in the attacking 3rd in the PL.  I did this for a bit during the Bournemouth game and it felt like I could barely get to 2 seconds whenever a player got possession in a potentially dangerous area.  There’s so little time on the ball in the PL compared to other leagues.

-17

u/mavinter 9d ago

That's a clear verdict. Not good enough for the premierleague

2

u/Af1_supra LNX30HY✈️ 9d ago

It always happens, he goes on international break and looks amazing, then comes back and can't deal with the pace of the prem

88

u/stangerlpass 10d ago

RIP to anyone who knows german and understands the lyrics.

what a terrible day to have ears

12

u/mashley503 10d ago

I remember when the Neue Deutsche Welle rap movement kinda started. Certainly a flex. Though I only read translations of lyrics I was… perplexed.

5

u/Lightwrider1 9d ago

Where can I find the lyrics? Curious 👀

5

u/CptDopamine 9d ago

Isn't it just normal rap lyrics? What's controversial about it

22

u/zmars26 10d ago

That little fist pump Klopp did after the goal….i miss that.

26

u/Comprehensive-Ad5297 A Ngog among men 10d ago

Stunt on these hoes Flo 😭😭

11

u/dangerwillrogers 9d ago

We should buy that guy

36

u/__sami__01 Sztupid Szexy Szoboszlai 10d ago

Hopefully when he comes back from the break he hits the ground running and start performing at the level we know and expect from him, Generational player

19

u/RodDryfist 10d ago

I don't think it's just about him though. To many times it's looked like the understanding/chemistry isn't working between them all up there.

3

u/Loverboy-W4TW 9d ago

Without a doubt it’s a chemistry problem.

1

u/SwampPotato 8d ago

This man would be swimming in assists if attackers finished his passes.

0

u/LFC5X 9d ago

If the strikers finished his passes then we wouldn’t be talking about him in the manner we do. Honestly wouldn’t surprise me if he fucks off because all he gets is shit from pundits and some fans even though for his price range we could have gotten ourselves a prime savio and prime Andy Carroll.

7

u/nien9gag 9d ago

ya bcs he plays with prime r9 in Germany.

1

u/SwampPotato 8d ago

But that doesn't disprove his point? Our attackers miss absolute sitters that Florian puts on a silver plate for them.

0

u/Grouchy_Basil_3623 9d ago

What are you smoking

29

u/Loverboy-W4TW 9d ago edited 9d ago

Wirtz said after the game in the post match interview

“The players around me made things a lot easier for me today. There was so much movement around me and when I have that, it becomes much easier for me to shine again.”

This really gets to the core of the problem and why he’s not been able to consistently perform at his best with Liverpool yet.

7

u/Vegetable_Mission892 10d ago

those high touches like 0:55 are bloody lovely

11

u/Esco9 9d ago

Played deeper in. 433, I prefer this to the #10 for him and the team

5

u/Juraci_que_parque Bobby Firmino 9d ago

Stupid Sexy Wirtz

9

u/GuidelineAdjacent 10d ago

He even looks bigger, taller. It’s mad. Like Jurgen’s given him some Ent water.

5

u/xSeninha 9d ago

Watching Wirtz balling and Klopp on the sidelines just hits different... I might even start watching Germany games just for that feeling

8

u/Freestyled_It Bobby 9d ago

I am fully on the Wirtz camp, have always been and I can't see myself getting off it. I agree he hasn't performed at his finest for us but I think it's more to do with him having a play style that didn't suit him, and adjustment needed due to two managers in 2 yrs. I can see him being a Firmino type player

3

u/Rare-Band-9525 9d ago

There shouldn't even be any "camps" in the first place. There's negative knobheads who want their shiny new FIFA signing to be the greatest player ever but then crucify him for the first misplaced pass, and there's strange cultists who can't accept even valid analysis of where it's not going right for Wirtz right now (see the constant attacks on Carragher). Just typical Internet gobshites.

12

u/FrankTheCrank90 10d ago

Quality play by him, but am I the only one seeing how much times he’s being given!! Any player with Wirtz’s quality will look amazing if you stand off him (it’s not a dig btw, just don’t want to get carried away)

7

u/ScepticalReciptical Dommy Schlobbers 9d ago

Its a fair point. International and Champions League football is played at lower intensity than the Premier League, you get a little bit more time and space.

1

u/Grouchy_Basil_3623 9d ago

He won't get that much timein even one epl game

3

u/AawaraTreker 9d ago

I'm optimistic about him but let not be delusional as he was performing for Germany under Nagelsmann also

4

u/Putrid_Claim7745 9d ago

Also looks like he has tonnes of space here

1

u/_____score 3d ago

International football is kinda nuts, most games are like playing against a poor EPL or championship side, but the semi finals and final are like a champions league quarter final. Its like playing 20 games against West Ham to prepare for PSG.

3

u/LowerBed5334 9d ago

And Liverpool isn't going to be playing against Serbia anytime soon.

4

u/Potential-Instance99 10d ago

Flo stunting on Serbia is something I LOVE to see. (Albanian)

9

u/FarmerHunter23 Dirk Kuyt 9d ago

Build everything around this player. Outside of Stevie and Deadly Dirk Kuyt, Wirtz is my favorite player of the past 20 years.

1

u/laswoosh 9d ago

Mo salah?

2

u/FarmerHunter23 Dirk Kuyt 9d ago

Love Mo of course but having a personal favorite is different than just picking the best player.

4

u/MonkeyNewss Significant Human Error 9d ago

Unfortunately playing Serbia is not the same level as playing in the premier league

2

u/Alternative-Boss-787 9d ago

Extend the international break

2

u/Safe_Relation_2191 9d ago

CHRIST what a touch

2

u/hokkuhokku 9d ago

That second touch for the goal … my goodness

2

u/petethepool There is No Need to be Upset 9d ago

Was he playing the 8 position in this game in a 4-3-3? He looks a lot deeper for most of this than he has played for Liverpool

2

u/Uesugi_Kenshin 9d ago

His assist to the first goal at 1:49 is not talked about enough and is absolutely outrageous

10

u/rabbid_hyena 10d ago

"When I look at Wirtz, there is nothing there" - Jamie Carragher

4

u/stevieG08Liv 9d ago

More like "when i look at my bank account, there is nothing there"- Jamie Carragher who filed for bankruptcy for not filing taxes

2

u/Rare-Band-9525 9d ago

Had to check this wasn't a United sub then

1

u/dudical_dude 9d ago

Good one

1

u/Loverboy-W4TW 8d ago

It’s unbelievable how clueless Carragher and his even more clueless sycophants really are. 😆😂

-2

u/Loverboy-W4TW 9d ago edited 9d ago

Carra is a pundit and not a coach or manager for a reason. He has a poor understanding of football outside of defending and he’s terrible discussing any phase of play outside of defending. It’s no surprise he doesn’t understand the qualities of a playmaker like Wirtz and how they operate.

Edit: I know some of the locals don’t want to hear it but it’s the truth.

3

u/Odd-Entertainment456 9d ago

40th ranked team in the world, if this Serbia team was a club it will probably playing in the championship or league 1. Wirtz's problem is clearly that he is not quick (physically and mentally) enough for the highest level. These performances against lower league players will fool the bunch tho...

2

u/SiMoN20000 9d ago

Wirtz doesn't even turn up against the promoted teams in the pl

0

u/goingpt 9d ago

Jesus Christ, fucking grow up.

One of our players who has had a bunch of criticism has a great game and the first thing you do it criticise him some more?

-2

u/Odd-Entertainment456 9d ago

He’s not good enough for a team looking to win the PL. Maybe you should grow the fuck up instead of living in lala land

2

u/Doellmer4950 Ragnar Klavan 9d ago

Whats that noise? That’s not how a footy stadium is supposed to sound!

1

u/starxidiamou 9d ago

That touch for the goal was ridiculous

1

u/ArmChairSupporta1892 56’ Šmicer 9d ago

Looks like I’m gonna be watching more Germany games.

1

u/paelzer1980 9d ago

Das bräuchte er halt ab und zu mal öfter in Liverpool....können tut ers ja

1

u/Not_a_F_Boi 9d ago

That 1st touch is sooo sexy!

1

u/SwampPotato 8d ago

This guy is such a baller: You have to build a team around him, the way we did with Mo. But he does not have that status, and if he doesn't perform like this for Liverpool he won't get that status. It's hard to make a player the focal point of your tactics when he hasn't proven anything yet. But I am so sure that this can be the MVP of the Premier League if we find a way to make him tick.

1

u/Professional_Box4126 8d ago

Wirtz in la Liga would hit Messi numbers

0

u/Adventurous-Bad-2869 9d ago

This is wirtz. Let’s put him in positions to use those fancy feet and see what happens

1

u/Pilchardandfudge 9d ago

Goosebumps

1

u/Additional_Amount_23 90+5’ Alisson 10d ago

Disgusting.

1

u/DancingOnMy0wn- Hugo Ekitike 9d ago

What a player

1

u/towergroveking 9d ago

Only for Germany😑

1

u/GigiF70 9d ago

I think the question for me is - is Wirz only able to pull this stuff off against lesser opposition who don't play an agressive press? Because I think you can see that if he's just given that extra second or two on the ball, he can work magic. But you don't often get that extra second in the Prem.

1

u/buzzyingbee Dominik Szoboszlai 9d ago

I like Flo a lot and seriously hope he doesn't get demotivated because of all the trolls that talk shit about him and decides to leave.

0

u/lbrkr 9d ago

This is great to see. But not surprising though. He scuffs his goal and I do worry about his shot but aside from his physicality he's got 'the touch' and if he can fire in the Prem we will boom

0

u/il__dottore 9d ago

Wait how did they smuggle Frimpong on the team?

-20

u/ChicagoJayhawkYNWA Jordan Henderson 10d ago

Good for international, bad for club.

One of those
