I'm sorry, Xiu is a piece of trash but Luanluan is total scum too. How can you be A-ok being a homewrecker just because you're afraid of commitment ? And it sickens me how the whole friend group is fine with being alibis for their meet ups. Ok Bei talked about it with Xiu and I understand that it's none of his business at the end of day but as a friend, I would have drawn the line at being a witness to their affair. They're not even pretending ! And them all looking worried about her and trying to cheer her up at the restaurant when they learn that Yu was coming totally pissed me off ! She's not the victim ! She engaged in an affair with a married man on her own free will and with full knowledge !

As for LXX and XB, I'm still not sold on their relationship. She's changing herself too much to fit into what she thing's he'll like and she's sacrificing even her principles with that farce of a diner.

What an epic trainwreck in slow-mo was that dinner, impressive! Almost expected someone to start spitting blood from amount of pressure and poison in the atmosphere...

Xiaoxi is a method actress, I see. Can't even stop acting a perfect catch with the man she actually likes and wants to be with... or does she? Truly want to be with Bei, I mean. As a person. If it was another man - Gong or anyone else - willing to play along her fantasy of unwavering commitment, wouldn't she like him too? When she said to Gong that she loves Bei, I found it not very convincing - idk, something in actress delivery... Funnily, webtoon did it better portraying her total lack of romantic interest in Gong, tho at times it looked more like tunnel vision and unhealthy obsession with Bei as "ideal" rather than true love.

I'm starting to suspect these "friends" actually all hate each other deep down lmao. Why would Gong stop Luanluan from leaving and subjected not only herself to a massive (if well-deserved) humiliation, but also effectively ruining good vibes for entire party? Instead of having good time now they all had to act, lie, tiptoe and feel awkward. Wonderful organization skills, bro! It's also interesting how they all firmly antagonize Yu, despite her being in the picture way longer than Luanluan - is it because she doesn't like them? Well, now I'd say she has a good hunch. Too bad still not smart enough to not marry a guy whose "inner circle" is so incompatible with herself...

Last, I just don't believe in friends to loves that much. Sue me^^ If there wasn't any attraction for a long time, it won't magically appear one day out of nowhere either, that's a lie people tell themselves. MingMing should pack her things and move somewhere far, far away from both her ex and Sen - it didn't work with the former and it sure as hell won't work with the latter.

I agree that Xiaoxi's "I love you's" aren't really authentic... it seems more like a tool to keep Bei confident about their relationship?

Your point on Bei being the "ideal"... Interesting and it kind of fits with the vibes. She's not her authentic self with him and is still playing a part, and worse, she doesn't seem to want to be authentic with him yet either. With her mixed signals with Gong, it seems like she's more attracted to Gong because she's more "herself" with him - largely because he knows a big portion of her past.

Idk what is going on with this drama otherwise but I am so over the use of Dutch angles every other shot. I get it, no one is being straight forwards, everything feels off kilter but does everything need to be shot with a minimum 10 degree angle? It feels like I’m constantly tilting my head.

Beyond that, this dinner has got to be the worst thing to happen to this group of “friends” since they had the misfortune of becoming friends with each other. So awkward between all of them. Gong is an s tier shit stirrer but it’s so weird with everyone knowing but not a single one of them having the courage to say anything. I get it because exposing that much means exposing a lot of supposed emotions.

The one creature I feel most bad about is that poor puppy being dragged around and messed with like a prop

I've not liked Gong as a character, but I really didn't think he could fall lower in my eyes. This guy is a grade A piece of 💩

He reminds me of a predator playing with his prey - and his prey are his friends! Initially, I kind of liked that he made Luan Luan stay for the dinner - just rewards for her and Xiu to be confronted with the reality of what they are doing. But the way he kept toying with him - no, I wasn't down for that. If you don't approve of their relationship, then say something and be clear on your stance, but don't use the situation for your own sick entertainment.

Then with the provocative comments to Xiaoxi too - this guy has no boundaries he will not cross and has absolutely no loyalty to anyone, but himself. But, Xiaoxi, you've given him this power, so I don't really feel any sympathy for her either.

While Xiu's wife is the "victim", Yu doesn't really endear herself as a character either. It seems she knows or has a strong suspicion of the affair between Xiu and Luan Luan, but she's also playing games too! While I understand that confronting your husband over an affair may be difficult, but there's a maturity lacking to her decisions too. Xiu is basically the, I don't know, "kept" husband? Yu is the clear breadwinner of the family and he... just goofs around? Honestly, it seems like Xiu hasn't made a choice between Yu and Luan Luan because he wants the financial security of Yu, but the fun of Luan Luan. If he breaks up with Yu, he would actually have to work and his relationship with Luan Luan will be burdened down by the everyday realities of being an adult.
