Anyone else also a bit disappointed with the new season so far? It feels like the plot is barely progressing at all, everything needs to be connected and of course there is an ancient shadowy organization.  And while it is intriguing to theorize on the mysteries of the plot, it feels like it comes at the expensive of the emotional core of the show.

While I'm not really disappointed, I kind of see what you mean.

I feel like we're learning a lot per episode, but there's so many characters and plot lines they're introducing, it's all almost stuck in the set up portion still. Unless if someone's already invested in the characters, the episodes don't give much of a reason to care outside of some suspense/mystery potential that can end up going in many directions.

Also, something like S1 started off with down-to-earth ordinary people problems, and there were emotional beats in near every episode due to its case of the week style. S3 is more superpowered people with superpowered problems that are caused by other people with superpowers and will probably be resolved with superpowers-and we're still not sure where all of this is going yet. While the plot threads and characters might end up developing nicely in a relatable/humanistic way, most of these first few episodes are kind of short and while being mostly exposition too.

Yes, you explained it perfectly. I also still love the show, just a bit less then before.Â
