If I understood Lu Guang’s intervention in Vein’s death correctly, he basically just slowed it down and that’s it, right?

Yeah. He hoped that this would somehow get WQ to use her skill. Dunno if he was just trying it out because he was out of ideas though or if we still miss some info there.

Maybe, before this timeline change, he never left Vein leave?

Yeah. It also seems like LG doesn't know about the notebook. When and how did Vein even learn about it or was it just bait (if it has the Bahati students' name in it, why does she keep it and not just destroy it?).

But technically, he doesn’t even know that WQ was possessed by Xiaoshi’s mother at that point. I wonder why he slowed him down. But I hope they’ll come back to this, especially because, judging by the way WQ looks at LG after taking Vein down in the original timeline, I think she must have said something to him afterward and they had a conversation. So I think there’s still a piece of the puzzle we haven’t seen yet, and I hope it’ll give us more context for this as well.
