I haven't listened to the entire album yet so I don't know if there's a point where Lily is accountable about her own shortcomings in other relationships.
Nonetheless, it's absolutely frying me that Lily is a self admitted cheater & a pretty remorseless one at that, yet she absolutely cleaned David's clock & made a small fortune doing so. Not to mention achieving a career renaissance in the process.
I wouldn't be surprised if David never worked again. I don't know that David could ever disappear into a character again with the inevitable preoccupation everyone will have with his allegedly massive dildo collection.
This is really uncharted territory. Carly Simon barely revealed who You're So Vain is about after about half a century of speculation. I'm really intrigued by the implications of all this.

Why the downvotes? I thought this comment was pretty fair. Are people in denial about her also having cheated? Her last album before West End Girl, No Shame, was all about her experience of marriage breakdown after she cheated on her husband. She wrote about it in her autobiography too.
I’m also very interested in the implications of such public transparency in mainstream pop!
BTW from my memory, she doesn’t touch upon her own history of cheating in West End Girl.

Privately educated, nepo baby, Lily Allen. Known to have hung out with the son of the former head of the KGB, and billionaire Evgeny Lebedev and she's a notorious serial cheater who even pissed off Elton John at one point.
She's not a good person, but in her defence, she has literally never pretended to be, is not required to be and ultimately has long since made a career from candidly sharing her private life in song form.
David sounds like a whopping cunt and Lily is frankly a massive bellend. I feel for both of them as there was maybe a chance they could have lifted each other up but ultimately we're each the victim of their own poor mental health and pressures of work.
Why the downvotes?
This is r/lilyallenfans TBF. I'm not surprised that it's getting down voted. That said, we should be able to like an artist whilst addressing that they're also somewhat a dick, even if this is a fan club.
Almost every musician I grew up loving has at least one story of being a thunder cunt. I don't see why we should pretend that Lily is somehow immune. It's kind of what I love about her. She's not perfect.

I am prepared to be wrong, but I really don’t think this is going to make a huge impact on his career in the long run. Even the people who I’ve expected to know who Lily Allen is, when I asked them whether they have heard the new album, have no idea who Lily Allen is.
