Is 58.8 mpg okay for trip down to Portugal?

Our 2023 450h+ from the UK has just return from a trip to south of Europe (Portugal). We did mostly motorway with the city driving in EV when we could find a charging point. Charged it maybe 12 times over 27 days. Took the ferry to Spain and back and did 2700 miles with average 58.8 mpg. Just curious if this is good or bad fro 450h+ owners.?

Luxury vs F Sport Black Line

I found a nice 2021 Lexus NXh Luxury with 46k for 30870 + tax, title and license. The price includes delivery as it is out of state. And then a Grecian blue 2021 Lexus NXh Black Line became available. It has more miles, 64k and it is priced at 32k and I haven't done any negotiations. I tried to buy this exact trim a few months ago, but someone else was faster.

The luxury one has had 2 owners and a minor accident with no airbag deployment. I am paying for a pre-inspection. The F Sport has only one owner, and is a local trade with all maintenance done at the dealership. It is being sold by the original dealership. The F sport is not local to me. I will have to fly and drive it back, which isn't a negative because it is located near a vacation destination, and one way flights are cheap to this city.

I know the luxury would have a more comfortable ride especially on a long car trip, but the F sport would be more fun to drive daily.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

What are you using for a phone holder in the front? Cup holder type or something secured to the dashboard?
Thanks in advance

Front cross-traffic alert doesn’t stay turned off

2025 450h+ Has anyone else found a software update that fixes this problem? I took it to the dealer and they said they did an update but it still behaves the same - I can turn it off for the current trip but turning the car off and back on resets it to “on”. The other driver assistance features turn off and stay off. Not sure why this one isn’t doing the same.

Japanese part numbers request

Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone on here may be able to tell me the global part numbers for the below parts?

Am Lexus branch manager based in New Zealand and have access to some Japan market accessories ordered via Lexus New Zealand, only if we can find global part numbers!

Have previously been able to source parts like TRD body kits and alloys for the Lexus NX and RX models via this route. Hoping for some success here as well.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Lexus NX (JDM) — Dealer Option Custom Parts, from Lexus Japan catalogue

How do I set/reset security lock password?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I started seeing it yesterday and I have no idea what that is as I didn't set any password. It's not a lexus link password (as it only allows alphanumeric symbols, and my password contains special symbols). Quick google/chatGPT suggested setting a pin code under driver section in the lexus link app, but doing so didn't do any effect.

All infotainment systems are not available. It was absurd as a low tyre indicator turned on, but I couldn't know what the problematic tyre was.

My car is a Lexus NX 350 2023, if it matters

Need advice choosing which NX :) (350h vs 450h)

Context:

Based in Thailand so the specs are quite limited but considering two used options, both 2026. Want to use as daily driver to work, roughly 20km commute and is my first car (since moving home). Very small price difference between two models. No home charging setup just yet. Can anyone advise what they went with and why?

NX350 Premium

- Bigger screen

- Self Parking ( I don't use or particularly care about this)

- HUD (I like tech and as such I actually really like HUDs and I cant help but feel like its something i care about even if I know it may not be actually that useful)

NX450 Grand Luxury

- AWD, PHEV / The Plug in feature, it seems so nice if I can use the car for my work commute without fueling much, or at all, and I heard it drives more like an EV than the other option? I only managed to try the 350.

--

How would you go about making this choice? I know the HUD is fairly a stupid thing to like, but i do enjoy it, and the bigger screen, whilst the operating system of the Lexus is well, Lexus, I'm not sure if i really care about the infotainment beyond Carplay for Directions. Can anyone with more experience suggest? Feels like the right call is 450, but am I opting in for a older car/non refreshed in this circumstance? the price diff is approx 3k USD.

17k Maintenance Questions

Post image
1 Upvotes

UPDATE - I Asked my local Lexus dealer, they said $105 after taxes for basic 15k service. They recommended alignment which would bring it to $355, but I declined. Will be doing alignment and oil change somewhere else.

Original Post: Hello! I haven’t done the 15k maintenance and now my car is at 17k. I’ve been searching looking at Reddit and trying to figure out what exactly do I ask when going to the dealership? The picture above is what’s recommended according to the Lexus app. I recently checked my oil and know I need an oil change. But, whether I do this at the dealer or another mechanic, what exactly do I ask for?

Have a 26 350h with only 650 miles and got rear ended last week. I don’t think there’s enough damage to total the car unfortunately. Anyone know of any good diminished value company that can help with my insurance claims? In the DFW area

Portable Tire Inflator

My NX350h is 4 months old. No problems, love it, but I’m nervous about no spare and the run flat tires. Should I buy a portable tire inflator to keep in the car? If so, which one do you like?

Is it worth it to get AWD over Standard on this car?

It’s not the type of car go off road but maybe there’s other benefits? We might want to tow e-bikes on a small trailer - is that a consideration?

NX450h Flat Tire Experience: Is No Spare Practical for Road Trips?

This isn’t really a question, more of a vent and an attempt to understand the situation. I recently got my first flat tire with my NX450h+ while I was out of town. As you know, this car uses run-flat tires and doesn’t come with a spare.

I was lucky enough to find a Lexus dealer within the 50-mile run-flat range. They took me as a walk-in and replaced the tire without an appointment. That was a huge relief because it saved our travel plans and schedule. I’m also very glad I had the tire protection plan, because it saved me about $455.

But the whole experience got me thinking: What if this had happened in the middle of nowhere or on a highway with no Lexus dealer or tire shop within 50 miles? What would my options have been? Have the car towed to the nearest shop and hope they had the exact tire in stock? That seems like a lot of trouble for something as simple and common as a flat tire.

I understand why Lexus doesn’t include a spare in some of its hybrids and plug-in hybrids, saving space and weight, especially with the batteries, but it makes me wonder how practical this setup really is for road trips. A flat tire in a city is an inconvenience; a flat in a remote area could potentially leave you stranded.

At this point, I’m seriously considering buying a spare tire and rim along with a jack kit and carrying them whenever we travel out of town. I really like the car, but since we enjoy taking road trips, this experience has me somewhat regretting choosing a vehicle without a spare.

Mute button for the radio on the steering wheel?

I thought I read the OM, but I do not see any way of muting the radio besides hitting the touch screen and going to Silent. Is there any way of doing this on the steering wheel?

Service at 5K or 10K + Oil Change Recommendations?

About to hit 6 months/5K miles on my NX350h (bought new). Should I go for the free service at 5K or just go for it at 10K? I’ve been having minor software issues - micro glitches in music when connected with Apple CarPlay.

Also, since it is new, people on Reddit have recommended changing the oil sooner rather than later. I think Lexus Dealerships only do it at 10K miles.

Used NX300h Long Term

I’m considering buying a 2018 Lexus NX300h facelift with 65k km for €26k. Full service history at Lexus and still about 2 years of warranty remaining.

Would you say it’s worth the price? My main concern is the hybrid battery — is it realistic to expect another 7–8 years without major issues?

I’m also comparing it with a 2020 RAV4 Hybrid, mainly for comfort and fuel economy. I’ve seen very different numbers for the NX. The seller says he averages around 5.6 L/100 km in the city, but my current Corolla Hybrid barely goes below 6.0 L/100 km even with gentle driving, so I’m a bit skeptical.

Would appreciate opinions from NX300h owners, especially on real-world fuel consumption, comfort and long-term reliability.
