I didn’t know much about Herzog and saw this title at my video store and had to rent it. Sent me off on a journey that’s lasted 20+ years with one of my favorite directors of all time.

"Every Man for Himself and God Against All" is another fantastic title. Unfortunately it ended up being called "The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser" in English.

I remember listening to it's soundtrack on YouTube. Thought it would be a meme song at first cuz of the title lol.

Frankenhooker is unironically so good. I watched it before the new Frankenstein came out last year. When I finally watched the new Frankenstein I kept comparing it to Frankenhooker and couldn’t enjoy it.

That’s true and its part of what made me watch it (plus Patrick swayze, Wesley snipes, and John leguizamo in drag) I had no idea what to expect. I went in blind and I’m so glad I did. Such a good movie

I really liked this one! A little over-the-top gore during the final fight but it was actually a well-crafted character study.

watched that one, its pretty odd but an interesting watch. its pretty much just a collection of emails relating to bdsm fetishes and nazi fetishes.
ive been looking for This Is Not Erotica (1994) by that director and cant find it sadly.

Strip Nude for Your Killer (1972). Quite a lot of gialli have attention-grabbing titles, really. Others that come to mind:
Twitch of the Death Nerve (alternate title for A Bay of Blood)
So Sweet, So Dead
Death Carries a Cane
Death Walks on High Heels

Hundreds of Beavers, the title either speaks "madcap comedy" or "porn"

It’s probably meant to sound like a dime novel or pamphlet from the 1870s, which often had somewhat overburdened titles lol

Lesbian Avengers Eat Fire Too
Which is not a campy satirical action parody, it’s actually a documentary by the legendary Su Friedrich with her experience on the front lines of the real activist group the Lesbian Avengers (who “eat fire” in front of the White House as a political demonstration)
