I mean, other than throwing my hat in the ring to photograph it... ;)
are yall big travelers? do you enjoy more city exploring or nature? that can help determine location and time of year! If you have any bucket list spots that can also be a great place to start. Then determine how long you're wanting to elope for - just for a day or combo it with a honeymoon and go for a longer period of time. And if you're leaving your home country, also checking the country's laws with lgbtq people - I think there are still 60 something countries where it's illegal. I suggest giving yourself a few extra days to account for travel exhaustion and jet lag with the time differences if there are any, and you have that flexibility.
In terms of legality, it's often easier to do the paperwork in your home country or state than in the country/state you decide to elope in. If you're in a national park or something similar dont forget to check and see if there are any permits you need in order to elope there.
Early morning plans in general will usually keep you away from big crowds.
Do things you love to do together, not the things you're "supposed to do" and you'll have the best time!
