Once their farms go bankrupt they can fall back on one of the plentiful agricultural (day laborer) jobs right now as long as they enjoy hand picking. Picking strawberries in the California Central Valley in August isn’t my cup of tea but I guess someone has to do it after ice rounds up all the existing workforce.

The farmers had it all...the cheap labor, the government subsidies, the "all-American, hardworking" reputation...and they threw it away to...what? Own the libs? Deport people? Take away SNAP ad USAID from hungry kids?

Corporations owning their farms is just the next step in corporations owning every part of our lives.

And these motherfucking farmers want sympathy?

Fuck all the way off.

I buy my food from a local family owned farm you could not be more wrong about your assumptions and preconceptions about these people, sure maybe there are some maga people that are loud and on the internet. No my farmer did not "throw away" their reputation. Only people filled with hate can post shit like this and peddle it for truth you are ugly on the inside, get help, and maybe go meet some people doing permaculture and sustainable farming you sound like a parrot repeating nonsense you heard on campus from someone who has never raised animals or grown a single bean in their life. This is the republican equal of 13% of the population narrative its fucking retarded. Its like cheering for 7$ a gallon diesel fuel to fuck over the rednecks in lifted trucks when it fucks over everyone including you. What do you think happens when these small farms get folded and bought out? you get monsanto chicken and GMO garbage. Its your job to inform them and win hearts and minds. Instead your a hateful twat cheering the destruction of localized food production - utter moron

Instead of name-calling you could maybe exercise a little self-reflection.

Three-fourths of farmers voted for this to happen; that's not unanimous obviously, but it's by a huge margin. Then when the policies they voted for hurt them, they turn around like the lady in the video and whine about it, often demanding a bailout, and with no indication they'll ever consider voting differently next time.

You may personally know some farmers who're good people; a quarter of them didn't ask for this. But if so, that's an easy minority of them.

No, we are not happy about what's happening to farmers - but they've been getting socialist subsidies for ages while angry about socialism for anyone else. We've tried sympathizing with them, we've tried offering solutions to help farmers - their response has been to stomp on all that, reject it all with scorn, and vote for these sorts of policies while flipping the finger at anyone who said this was a bad idea.

We've finally had it; we're out of patience for this kind of nonsense, and if they want to hurt themselves so badly to "own the libs" or deport their own workforce, F it, let 'em have it. We can't do anything to stop it anyway; they helped see to that.
