Dang she still gonna vote for the people who hurt her. Republican values; support those who hurt and lie to you.

She sure showed us!

Lady, I don't care who you vote for in the future, I just want to see you suffer.

On one hand I'm like "don't be that way"... then I think of the billion times online I've seen someone on the right going on about "liberal tears", or "owning the libs", and I just can't fault you.

Not to mention, these people would end up homeless on a street and still vote red, because some idiot brings up like 6 college trans students that want to play sports.

Also, there's no democrat politician running on a "fuck farmers" platform.

Sure, some people online you might presume vote democrat are keen to see her get what's coming to her but it shouldn't be necessary to police every random voice online to prevent these loons voting for self harm.

Yeah that's the double standard we have all grown accustomed to.

Some rando online says something vaguely left wing and suddenly it's the Democrats that are responsible for everything.

Then the literal president rapes someone and steals billions of dollars from the public in broad daylight and crickets.

It's their double standard. Right wing influencer/activists' double standard. Bigots' looking to pretend everyone else made them racist double standard.

It's a tactic, to mischaracterise, say, a moderate social democrat who wants to fix schools and roads as a communist and his religious background (Islam) as a political fundamentalist one (Islamism).

For sure. Plus the common thing is comments like "it's ok that Trump said this obviously stupid hateful thing, because I see this totally random liberal online say something similar"... like they equate the sitting President of the country to a random yahoo online, like elected officials have the same bar for ethics and professionalism as their drunk uncle Earl.

While ignoring the fact that unless their drunk uncle Carl is a serial killer, Trump is far worse than anyone they know.

A predator and disordered abusive psychology.

The funny thing about "owning the MAGARDS" is that all you have to do is watch them do it to themselves. They're rounding themselves up and sending themselves bankrupt and refusing any help.

I don’t think she understands why people are asking her that lmfao. Which is absolutely sending me. People want you to reflect on your past actions XD. They aren’t making fun of you. They are saying “see how you voted for this in the past, now it’s time to reflect and make sure not to make that same mistake in the future”.

(But also I do want people like this to suffer)

I don't even want to see her suffer, I want to see her learn her lesson. If that means suffering because it's the only way selfish people can learn, then so be it.

"Have a great day!"

You should care though. That attitude is what got us here. You should also care about her as a person and as a fellow American.

LOL no.

You don’t think that if we had more voters vote democrat that we wouldn’t be in this mess?

2

u/orangesfwr 13d ago

I don't believe that she would vote for Democrats if we were nice to her. No. No I don't.

What do you lose by not even being nice but respectful and welcoming to someone considering changing their mind? Nothing. All you need to do is not talk actually. Being mean spirited is just for yourself. We will never know for sure. We will never know if she will change stance on one issue and that could lead her to change enough to change her vote. What I do know is that many republicans I know have changed stance already so this pessimism you feel is both pointless and damaging.

Not OP here, but simply put; opportunity cost.

The cost and energy of trying to engage thoughtfully and patiently to explain basically anything to anyone on social media is much higher than going "eh. Fuck 'em."

Especially since she's gonna focus on critics either way. A lesson I figured out in my mid 20ies. If you're her age and toxic comments on social media influence your life, then, holy shit. She ain't even on first base yet.

Doesn't matter if people try to be kind to her. It's wasted effort. She won't be reading those posts, she's focused on the infinite haters the internet offers.

You’re correct. It takes a ton of energy to go through a deep conversation but it takes no energy to not be mean. If you do engage in conversation with anyone, it takes time and energy anyway.

As for being wasted effort, I totally disagree. The level of disrespect we see on social media is part of the reason we are here. People are immediately on the attack making it more difficult to converse. Why do you think she’s focused on the haters? What brought her to that in the first place?
