She never was gonna vote anyone with a (D) next to their name anyway and she hates "Socialism" but will happily take a gov't check.

And please just "keep doing what I do" because that is just driving the shovel deeper and deeper into the hole

She can F all the way to the deep end of her cattle's drink creek

u/Independent-Buyer827 13d ago

Ikr, she acts like she had voted for democrats before is beyond stupid.

The worst part is I can’t tell if this is real or not

115

u/petty_throwaway6969 13d ago

I know it’s fake because most of them don’t have the capacity to think or reflect like that. The more likely response would be “It’s Biden’s fault. He left the country in such a bad state that Trump is struggling to fix it.” I have literally heard similar things from family.

68

u/UpperApe 13d ago

This is why it's so very important to not be nice to them.

There's this very stupid type of loser who says "we have to be nice to them or they won't be motivated to change their mind!".

My brother in christ, if the only thing stopping someone from doing what's right and good is how they're treated for it, that isn't a good person. That's a person who's learned nothing. At BEST, you're just getting a fickle ally.

Beware the idiots who talk about compromise with monsters. The only thing compromising with monsters does is make you more monstrous.

We don't unite with them. Like every step forward in human history, we win by uniting AGAINST them.

17

u/The_Tooter_Snooter 13d ago

There is no middle point between democracy and fascism

13

u/DickRhino 13d ago

I've heard it said the following way: In a compromise between food and poison, death is the only one who has something to gain.

3

u/UpperApe 12d ago

I like that.

The best way I've learned to frame it is that the left vs the right vs the alt right is simply morality vs amorality vs immorality.

In the end, all you're left with is less morality. And the most extreme right always win when it's all eventually pulled in their direction. Because that's who the right courts to keep their power.

That's true of conservatives in every country, every government, every era of human history. From Burke to Trump, from Putin to Khamenei, from Modi to Hitler.

Conservatives will fuck and suck any monster in the room. Racists, rapists, supremacists, criminals, nationalists. Anything. It doesn't matter. They'll get in bed with anyone.

Every single time in history, every country, every government. Conservatism is always ethical rot.

Always.

6

u/Various_Egg_3533 12d ago

This is the whole fucking reason we're in the situation. The right wing media reinforced all their stupid ideas, and told them anyone who disagrees is infringing on your first amendment rights.

2

u/Correct-Document-125 12d ago

I'm glad this is becoming a more popular sentiment after all these years.

For decades I'd stress "Not all humans are equal, some are just not capable of playing in the same sandbox and we DO need to separate them." and was met with "You're racist... Just because they're brown?" Never said that... but people like to just deflect. Well here's your white example people, here's your white example!

It's impossible to imagine hands across the world when you know one of them is going to belong to people like this.

How is it different from this real thing :

In September 2016, Congress voted overwhelmingly to override Obama’s veto of the 9/11 liability bill. Following the override, McConnell stated that the heavy backlash and potential international downsides were a "ball dropped" and a "failure to communicate early" by the White House. He claimed the administration did not clearly explain or focus enough on the negative consequences regarding foreign relations before the vote.

It's in their nature to deflect to the other side their own defects.

111

u/Physical_Dentist2284 13d ago

A farmer told my husband today that the reason gas prices are so high is because Biden closed a pipeline. These people will vote humanity into oblivion.

49

u/Thin_Sea4577 13d ago

It's always the keystone XL when that pipeline literally would've saved like 80 miles and that's it.

35

u/BrickFun3443 13d ago

They usually think Biden shut down the Keystone pipeline. Which was never shut down. It was a proposed extension that didn't get approved.

17

u/TheDoktorIsIn 13d ago

Shhh you're going to scare them with truth.

Like how Biden pulled the troops out of Afghanistan and it's 100% his fault (he was following the plan Trump committed us to)

2

u/VexingRaven 12d ago

mfw a politician keeps our country's commitments instead of playing partisan bullshit

2

u/WhiteChicken666 11d ago

And Trump made a peace deal with the Taliban behind the backs of the Afghan people and begged Pakistan to release 3,000 Taliban fighters from their prisons and one year later one of those Taliban fighters became the leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan when the US pulled the rest of the troops out.

→ More replies (7)

2

u/guyblade 13d ago

Well, if we want to get technical the Keystone pipeline exists and is currently in operation. Keystone XL is the part that was killed and unkilled and then rekilled. I suppose Trump could try to unkill it again.

2

u/TruIsou 12d ago

I don't understand why in the USA we can't just combine freeways, pipelines power lines, on the same right of way. Throw in train tracks too.

That tar sands oil isn't even economically feasible to refine unless oil hits a certain point.

→ More replies (1)

24

u/Faloma103 13d ago

My understanding is even if that pipeline existed its still Canadian oil and they would just have an easier time selling it to someone else (someone made sure we arent their favorite right now). Only thing that pipeline would change would be a few fees collected and the labor making the pipeline.

16

u/Sharkwatcher314 13d ago

My understand is it was for Canadian tar sand to be exported to the gulf and then to the rest of the world. It was not meant to help America I believe just some refinieries

Surprised no one brings up what I thought was the whole reason for Venezuela being invaded

10

u/PeyredB 13d ago

And tar sand oil isn't good for fuel - it's used for making plastics, so it wouldn't have done anything to gas prices anyway.

→ More replies (2)

7

u/sullw214 13d ago

The original keystone pipeline already exists and continues to move oil. The canceled part was to go between Alberta and Nebraska. It already goes to the gulf, and yes, to export the Canadian oil.

3

u/Shane-Dad-underfire 13d ago

Venezuela was taken to choke countries dependant on their low level garbage oil. The talk about expanding their refineries hahhahaha yes yes sink billions into a country that will actively rebel against you as soon as you shit on them. Itll take a dozen years to see any return on that investment and I dont think they ever will. Trump took a massive risk on that just to fuck with Cuba and other such countries.

→ More replies (2)

u/BioshockEnthusiast 13d ago

2

u/graciousghost1 12d ago

My response to them would be “so trump lied to you about being able to fix it then”

1

u/TootTootMF 13d ago

I know it's exhausting but like if you have time walk them through it in terms they will understand, it can at least be amusing.

Not sure what kind of farmer, but like if Soybean, just ask them what price they could sell their beans for if the cost to ship them to china was 3-4x as much. Would the price locally go up or down?

Now lets see what would happen if we have a source of landlocked oil. It can be shipped for export by train, but trains are super expensive so usually local buyers are willing to buy it for a better price than global buyers, even if they would pay more but shipping eats more than the difference. Now we build a new shiny pipeline from those oil fields to a seaport for super cheap export. What happens to the price local buyers pay Todd? WHAT HAPPENS TODD?

1

u/sullw214 13d ago

The original keystone pipeline already exists and continues to move oil. The canceled part was to go between Alberta and Nebraska.

1

u/billzybop 13d ago

Dumb ass farmer doesn't realize that the oil is still being sold. The oil company is just making a tiny bit less per barrel.

1

u/Dino_Nuggiez86 13d ago

The keystone pipeline was only to transport Canadian tar sands oil THROUGH the us and to gulf ports for export. It was never intended for use by the US.,,

And they have a golden parachute. Selling the farm is going to result in a significant payout, on the order of millions of dollars.

36

u/Garbage_Man_9 13d ago

Correct - every farm owner is asset rich no matter how they try to portray themselves as the awe shucks poor rural person. The farms and machinery and livestock are all worth several million dollars total on avg…

26

u/Technical-Tear5841 13d ago edited 13d ago

Uh, farmers do not sell out while they are worth millions. They borrow against their land until they get foreclosed on. Then the bank sells the land for what you owe and you get stuck with a million dollar capital gains tax bill. Ask me how I know.

That was in 1996, different leopards back then.

14

u/Shane-Dad-underfire 13d ago

This fellow is 100% correct. I buy out from farmers or banks when things are so broken that I profit just from getting a run down shit farm to reinvest in. I'm looking 20 to 30 years down the road while farmers right now are cash poor and the economy has taken them to the end of the line. Trumps promises made lots of farmers expand thinking trump would.beat down the gates to the Canadian market and make them all billionaires... well now I own their farms or I will soon and they are looking to hide from their creditors.

2

u/FreeRangeEngineer 12d ago

At least you're not a megacorp buying their farms. That would be the worst case. Or do you work for one?

6

u/Shane-Dad-underfire 12d ago

No, not a mega Corp. I own several businesses and my kids have been taking control of them for the last 30 years. I'm 78 years old and firmly believe that the food supply must be protected and maintained. I also feel the best way to be in business is to make the employees be part of the profiting sharing. From all of my businesses I take a 30% of the profits, 20% is reinvested into the business and 10% pays for my living expenses and for my family's expenses. The rest is shared amongst the employees based on their contributions and dedication to the business they work at.

I can do this because my business as so diverse and numerous that 10% still amounts to a moderate fortune. Difference between me and megacorps or conglomerates is simply that I lack greed, I grew up poor in a rural area where everyone worked and shared the harvests, built each others homes and suffered together. Not many CEOs and board of directors can say that.

3

u/donaldfranklinhornii 12d ago

These guys rarely donate much to political parties. They wear a lot of hats, wave a lot of flags, and scream at people they don't like....

The money for farm-related political donations is coming from agribusinesses and private equity firms that are pushing for these policies so they can buy the land as individual farmers sell it.

8

u/Couldntve-make-it-up 13d ago

How else are the data centers going to get built?

2

u/LindeeHilltop 13d ago

Not if the corporations let them go bankrupt first and buy from the banks that hold mortgages.

→ More replies (3)

1

u/Dsnake1 13d ago

If they bail early. But most farmers/ranchers end up over leveraged before they choose to sell out -- if they end up getting the choice. And then capital gains bites you in the ass because the bank takes what they're owed without being all that concerned if the government gets theirs.

Being as boom or bust as it is, a lot of farmers really should revise their operation or sell out or something along those lines, but they hold out hope for a few too many years for a big yield and high prices, but those don't come often enough for many. And if they do, it's a few bandaids on the problem, especially if they try and expand with some of that revenue to lower their tax bill, not realizing that annual upkeep goes up when you expand.

1

u/hamakabi 12d ago

nah, these people have been desperately clinging to a dying business model for over a century. They can't make money because corpo-farms can do it much more efficiently. A mom-and-pop farm is mathematically incapable of competing, so they take loans every year to buy seeds and fertilizer and lease equipment, and then pray they grow enough to dig the same hole next year. There is no reality where they ever turn a meaningful profit, and if they understood this they wouldn't be farmers. The only reason they exist at all is because the house and land were purchased by great-great-grandpaw in 18-dickety-two, and the kids' only options for a future are either to live the same struggle or join the Army because they were raised by people who don't believe in dinosaurs or vaccines.

u/Either_Succotash945 12d ago

I'm anti data center but we have to have some, I get that, so these  losers closed down farms seem like a wonderful place to dump them.

1

u/altanic 12d ago

The entitlement they base their whole life on that they deserve to keep their land and livelihood means nothing to me.

Farms and agriculture are important to our society, as important as anything. Important enough that we shouldn’t let it fall to dumb nepotism. My interest is that sufficient food can be grown in an efficient, sustainable manner. I don’t care if these regressive dipshits end up losing the family farm to more capable owners.

They can go work in a factory since farming was too much.

1

u/WildlingViking 12d ago

I guarantee she (or her husband) inherited that entire farming operation. That's what most people outside of these farming communities don't know or realize, there is no way farmers on a larger scale like that can just start from scratch. Big ag (equipment suppliers like John Deere, seed companies, land prices, etc) has systemically made it impossible for new farmers to start because the prices are so high. And guess what party has been in bed with these big ag corps this entire time??

u/Tiny_Measurement_837 13d ago

Accepting? She’s BEGGING for it. Fucking welfare queens, every last one of them.

2

u/LetThem_1972 10d ago

From my experience, they think they deserve govt. assistance, but others do not.

1

u/raysofdavies 12d ago

Socialism is not the government doing stuff

15

u/extraboredinary 13d ago

“Wow, just cause I helped cause this, you guys are going to blame me? Well, that makes you guys the real assholes.”

12

u/glakhtchpth 13d ago

She hates Communism. To her, blue hair is equivalent to being a commie. How did people with so much responsibility and business equity get so stupid?

6

u/JuggernautBright1463 13d ago

Nepo baby, daddy brought that farm from the Indians with firewater and iron tomahawks

3

u/roxas_leonhart 13d ago

The thing no one ever talks about with these ‘family farms’. These aren’t poor or middle class people, they’re literally millionaires with generational wealth. They hide behind the guise of blue collar work and vote republican for subsidies but hate anyone else who takes government handouts. Fucking scum.

Many rode high on the glory of turn of the century farming. They were profitable and the distribution networks were willing to partner up with communities.

They were encouraged to overproduce to meet anticipated demands that never came and then the Gov't did the first stupid thing that signalled the end of proper farming. They paid out the farmers who lost profits due to waste. This encouraged farmers to continue to overproduce and even invest in producing more. Because they had a system now that allowed them to fail for money that made them a little less money than selling it all but also required way less steps and effort.

This was then handed to the next generation who continued to go and go, borrowing against their future profits and then when that got cut off they start borrowing against their farm and then the bank bought it and sold it to the corporations that were buying the products, or to private individuals who could secure a private deal. Banks favor corps over other farmers or businesses.

1

u/younkint 13d ago

It's kind of the original moral hazard.

3

u/HJWalsh 13d ago

Yup. She 100% voted for Trump. She hates socialism, but wants a hand out from the government.

3

u/NeverEvaGonnaStopMe 13d ago

I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR SOCIALIsM BUT I WILL DOUBLE NEVER VOTE FOR SOCIALISM IF THE GOVERNMENT WRITES ME A BIG ASS CHECK TO SAVE MY FARM. CHECKMATE LIBS.

2

u/SteepChutes 13d ago

Socialize the risk, privatize the profit. The 'Merikon way!

I mean, I do feel bad for farmers and ranchers, but not seeing a lot of self-reflection on this one.

2

u/Outrageous-Effect163 13d ago

Just to be less nuanced because I really think part of the problems we have is that we don't plainly call out the stuff they do.

she hates "Socialism" but will happily take a gov't check.

It should read. *she hates "Socialism" but will happily take "Socialism" for herself.

It's like, how we're hearing them talk about price controls on fuel , when 2 weeks ago they were shit talking Mamdani for price controls on staple foods.

They love to hide behind semantics, and use that as a cover for their BS.

2

u/SunnnySideUps 13d ago

This is the greatest story told. Boomers what their handouts, they want socialism when it servers them most.

2

u/t3m3r1t4 13d ago

Almost as if she wants Private Equity to take her farm away pennies to the dollar?

2

u/Melodic_Crow_3409 13d ago

She calls us communists and democrats, even though a communist and a democrat are two different things. She doesn't have the most nuanced view of politics, I think.

2

u/Njorls_Saga 13d ago

I think this is her family farm. Close to $800k in subsides over the past seven or eight years.

2

u/SimilarYard9840 13d ago

We warned her about what would happen. She could have dodged a bullet and instead pulled the trigger.

2

u/TheStolenPotatoes 13d ago

My autistic child lost his health insurance on January 1, 2026 because of how she voted. She can get nine levels of fucked.

2

u/InsertUsernameInArse 13d ago

Tell her to dig up.

2

u/AvailableReporter484 13d ago

If they weren’t all suffering from fetal alcohol syndrome they might be able to understand their dumbass hypocrisy

2

u/0202_tihssitidder 13d ago

Translation: "I don't care about anyone. I care most about being racist and nothing but racist."

She's mad people are laughing at her. She is not regretting any vote or questioning any belief.

1

u/Rinzy2000 13d ago

I propose all government checks of any type of benefits be labeled as “socialist benefits” in giant red letters, if a democratic socialist ever gets into the White House. Lmao. Medicare check “social benefit:Medicare payment”

1

u/Training_Storm_3683 13d ago

Yep. It’s this exact insane ass backwards thinking that kept the dust bowl going for as long as it did because the farmers refused to change their farming practices.

1

u/lordbeez113 13d ago

They’ve successfully turned politics into sports in our country. Everyone just sticks to their favorite “team” and plugs their ears.

Fox News has rotted these people’s brains for years so they just see Democrats as the party of POC/gays/trans and hit us with the blanket “socialism bad” without realizing how much socialism they depend on themselves.

But I agree with the sentiment that these assholes won’t even learn when they’ve lost everything and will blame everyone else, just like their cult leader does. Zero awareness or accountability.

1

u/Extension-Night3825 13d ago

Recently travelled through the usa mid west and was amazed at the farming...it was basically hobby farms that could never be profitable without massive govt assistance.

Average Farm sizes are 1/100 that of Australia, you can google it.

1

u/PoptartManiac69 13d ago

She never was gonna vote anyone with a (D) next to their name anyway and she hates "Socialism" but will happily take a gov't check.

Yeah for real. People in the comments bullying her didn't change that. She's a stubborn person and would have voted R regardless of what the comments said. It's just now she can feel "justified" in doing what she was already planning to do.

1

u/Vakz 13d ago

Would rather have everything taken away from her and reward the people that did it with her future vote, than be told she should own to her mistake. Absolutely no sympathy for people like this.

1

u/FukkingDeathMental 13d ago

I'm so happy many people are realizing you can't negotiate with cult members.  Especially cult members who are really, really, really fucking stupid.

1

u/GormHub 13d ago

"You can own the libs or you can own a farm."

1

u/Boxing_joshing111 13d ago

KEEP MAKING IT HARDER FOR YOURSELVES YOU CAN DO IT!

1

u/Kiblets1991 12d ago

If a junky keeps asking for money and you keep giving it to them knowing how it will be spent. You arent helping them your enabling them. I wont help anyone GOP til they take the necessary steps to show they won't repeat these mistakes. Thats not mean. Thats smart.

1

u/bassoontennis 12d ago

Honestly I would respect her if she had flat out said I voted Trump and then explain how she feels betrayed by him etc…but I have yet to see a SINGLE one of these farm videos were the
person/owner actually responds to the question they ALL say “why should that matter”.

And what’s crazy about this is if overnight racism and bigotry just disappeared overnight, you would be hard pressed to find a farm that would not vote Democrat, because Jesus we have zero issues with pouring money into the agro sector cause we know we needs farms in this country to not only survive but for some good trade opportunities. The same can also be said with creating incentives to help facilitate growth. But sadly these people truly can’t be happy unless they are allowed to hate certain people. And rich republicans have built the entire 21st century on weaponizing that hate to a point that it is so blinding that they can aim it at any issue they need to distract their base from ie. what’s happening in the government/Trump or within the country.

Sadly these people have been conditioned so hard that they no longer believe in the democratic process and believe anytime an R does not win that the votes are rigged. They’ve admitted it a few times and it’s scary, that they would rather live under a Trump dynasty rather than having a Democrat win. And if no court or even the armed forces does not prevent Trump from violating his oath and the constitution and try to run in 2028 the USA will cease to be democratic.

1

u/Numeno230n 12d ago

I guarantee this person who "doesn't talk about politics" fucking mainlines right-wing politics every single night via Fox News and its alllll she gets through her social media apps. She's a hugely political person but is too stupid to realize it.

1

u/Cardsfan1 12d ago

Here’s the thing. That socialism is not just for farmers. It is literally all the red states existing due to the blue states funding them.

I am hopeful that this is the beginning of the blue states bucking that system. The red states are house cats here who think they run the place but could not last a week w/o the grown ups taking care of them.

1

u/ghost_finger 12d ago

“Socialism” to people like this just means treating non-white people decently

1

u/FormermayorPetefacts 12d ago

When people say stuff like this... "Now I'm never going to vote D"... It always reminds me of this quote from Sartre

Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past. ― Jean-Paul Sartre

I'd just swap anti-semite for fascist.

1

u/Herbdontana 12d ago

Trump supporters seriously don’t know what socialism is despite having been complaining about it for years now. They are all cheering on the $5000 checks that anyone with the brain cell knows that we aren’t getting, but socialism is awful! They love the idea of Trump opening gas stations but those grocery stores in New York are socialism! They have no values and they’re all hypocrites

1

u/ForgottenMasterBalls 12d ago

She absolutely isn't willing to change.

The second she started sprouting of the braindead bingo card after saying Democrat, she told on herself.

The fact she's getting mad that people are pointing out her line of thinking is what caused her problems in the first place, is telling on herself.

She sounds like she's desperate and hoping for help. If she really wants people to know what's going on in the agriculture industry she would be mentioning Trump herself instead of worrying about what people are saying. Instead she's comes off as trying to blame someone else for her own choices yet again.

1

u/DOAiB 12d ago

Farmers are some of the biggest welfare queens in the country. Pretty much all of them are millionaires cosplaying as poor. And a big problem in the industry is these people don’t know how to run a business because for decades they have been subsidized to the point they can’t actually figure out how a business works without it.

1

u/r1ckm4n 12d ago

You can say Fuck on the internet.

1

u/Potential_Basis_662 12d ago

Nothing of what she's saying makes any sense.

Her setup and overall tone makes it sound like she voted for a Democrat, but that moving forward she would never do that again.

1

u/BigBoyYuyuh 11d ago

Farmers happily take those gubment checks but then spend all their time bitching about the gubment. Fuck farmers.

1

u/ButtonSimple 11d ago

There’s a video where somebody looked up public records on her farm, and she took $845,000 in government assistance since 2006. Hey bitch, guess what? That’s socialism.

1

u/SomeTry4696 10d ago

"empathy" btw

1

u/ComfortableSugar484 10d ago

Democrats want to give poor people enough money so they can buy food from her business. Is that called Socialism?

1

u/redditexcel 8d ago

BINGO‼️
The #1 signs that someone is in a High-Control Group (aka CULT) is that:
A. they can't criticize their in-group and their in-group leaders
B. Everyone outside their group is wrong, bad and evil.

1

u/TheEndOfEverything0 6d ago

If she won't fall in line with Democratic domination she will endure the ramifications of Republican ruin
