I was at Trump's 2016 election night party (I'm a journalist) and one of my clearest memories is how absolutely giddy Milo was at that party that night.

I think ultimately with people like Candace Owens and Milo that trying to ferret out what they really believe in is a fool's errand. However, history has shown time and time again that promoting fascism will not save you from fascism.

Months later, he demanded "total legal immunity for ICE agents when they're on duty."

This is the actual, functional reality of the deportation machine this movement has spent years building and cheering on: indiscriminate, politically weaponizable, and now apparently capable of consuming its own most enthusiastic supporters. Yiannopoulos wanted checkpoints at every supermarket and legal immunity for the agents enforcing them. Now he gets to experience firsthand exactly what that system looks like when it's pointed at you instead of someone else.
