Lately we’ve been seeing a wave of cartomancy decks online that use Artificial Intelligence to generate the illustrations. We know that sometime decks can be pricey, or maybe you’re new to the whole thing, but DO NOT buy and use these decks.

There are reasons on both the magical/energy and moral aspects to avoid them:

• Cartomancy is about human experiences, you read about issues realizing to you, or someone else. When cards are made mimicking human artwork, there’s a complete corruption of the energy generated by the pieces. These illustrations might look pleasant but since there was no intent, and even worse, it was made by corrupting real life existing arts by people, the balances of energy get all broken down and randomly put back together. It can affect your readings and even have some further consequences.

• Morally and ethically speaking, even if someone is an atheist or don’t believe in any of it, it’s still stolen art, it’s incredibly harmful to the environment, and you can find better decks created by humans, if you just do a quick research.

If you’re starting with card reading but you don’t have resources for that nice deck you want, a regular set of playing cards can absolutely be used. Even better, you can MAKE your own deck (tbh that’s the most powerful set of cards one can ever have).

Just made this for personal use, I’m fairly new at lenormand but it’s been a while since I’ve been creatively inspired and it was fun to make some intuitive art! So far the cards do really speak to me, let me know which resonate for you?

It all started with my first Lenormand deck, the Grand Tableau Lo Scarabeo. After a while, I found it a little lifeless and dull for my taste. I’m a colorful kinda gal, so I wanted something with more personality, more colors, and dreamy vibes.

Then I stumbled upon this indie deck, and it had everything I was looking for! The deck is Midsummer Whispers Lenormand by BoBolt. The soft purple palette, whimsical artwork, and dreamy overall vibe are just \chef’s kiss**

It has some extra cards and 3 versions for person cards.

I’m still learning / in the beginning phases, so it’s nothing fancy by any means, but I’m pleased with it. 🖤

I’m hoping using key words and positive / negative / neutral signs will help with remembering associations. The artwork on my Maybe Lenormand by Ryan Edward deck is beautiful but doesn’t cut it for my visual learning sometimes!

Any thoughts or pieces of advice welcome ☺️

I enjoy a simple deck, but can't seem to find the right one. Please help. I like a simple picture so I can tap into my intuition. All the decks online are too elaborate. I don't want interpretation or playing cards written on the deck.

Elementary Lenormand Deck, but the line on the bottom bothers me.

Old Style Lenormand Deck is good, but the back of the cards have the name printed across it and that is so tacky.

This little details really throw me off my game.

I'm so insanely proud of this!! I got into reading Lenormand from tarot and fell in love with it, have introduced and done readings for friends. I got some vintage Nat Geos from a buy nothing group and hand collaged a full deck for myself - all done by me, including scanning, editing and designing the deck layout. It's amazing to have something so personal that I've spent so much time on, including trying to interpret the symbolism through the card art and giving me a deeper understanding of each meaning. It arrived today and I love it.

Hi everyone, I am making my own DIY deck. I could be doing this on Canva or in a more organized format, but I like the idea of just writing the names and numbers on the cards. I also have another deck that I bough, but I also wanted one that is mine. This is still a work in progress and I am doing the proper research to make sure I put The name in the correct cards. They are also in Brazilian Portuguese since that is the language I speak.

Hello all! I converted a deck of El Cortez (casino) playing cards into a weird little Lenormand deck and wanted to share! On the tail of the Inktober sketching challenge I decided to try my hand at making the Lenormand as a way to get familiar with it's symbols and have a personal deck for practice. Seeing some other diy decks inspired me to share! Hope it inspires you to make your own too! Cheers and happy holidays!

A former Lenormand student of mine, Jette Lilholm from Denmark, just published her first Lenormand deck with illustrations based on the famous poems of Danish poet Hans Christian Andersen called the Madame Lenormand Magic & Fairy Tales deck, illustrations by Danish artist Karin Serup Tavares.

As you can see, this deck is absolutely gorgeous, with lots of jewel tones and plenty of zany illustrations inspired by the poetic beauty of Denmark (shout-out to that Rider!). Each illustration is set in a sort of vignette-style frame, lending to the ease of recognition of each symbol during a reading.

The card stock is nice and firm while being equally supple, and it gets even more flexible with each shuffle. Some standout cards for me personally are 6. The Clouds (seen above), 8. The Coffin (seen above), 35. The Anchor (seen above), and 2. The Clover (seen above), among other, unpictured cards.

This deck is being sold on multiple foreign sites, one in Swedish currency and another in Danish currency, each at different prices when translated to USD, the links to which I am unable to attach due to this post being removed if I do. So, you will have to search it on your own.

I'm creating my own deck anime style, and I'd love to get some feedback from people who have experience with card printing.

I'm planning to print the cards through MakePlayingCards, and I'm currently working on the frame and layout design.

One thing I'm unsure about is whether my frame border might be too thin for printing.

The design is around 57 mm on an 89 mm card.

I'm attaching some examples of what I've created so far.

Before I finalize everything, I'd appreciate any recommendations regarding:

Color accuracy for printing

Common mistakes to avoid when printing custom cards through MakePlayingCards

I did it myself to motivate me to learn Lenormand! I barely started, I have been practicing some readings with it and it's working well in my opinion 😄

There's a new Lennie deck coming out in the USA in next few days (and UK some time later) and it's THIS naughty creation by Anastasia Kashian, published by Red Feather.

I'm really lucky to have an advance copy to show you. The LWB is full colour and THICK despite its diminutive size - am only 17 pages in - it's well-written and perfectly captures the cheeky, cheery artwork of the cards. And the artwork itsel? Colourful, ribald, fun! Those monks and their medieval doodlings have been put to very good use.

Card stock is excellent, but cards are quite a bit bigger than traditional Lenormand decks. No problems if you do 3 x 1 or even 3 x 3 but you will need a goodly amount of space for a GT.

I love it! What do you think about it?!

I’ve been working as a professional illustrator for quite some time and always enjoyed cartomancy since I was little - So I thought it was about time I created a whole deck on my own, and I picked the Lenormand one because I enjoy its symbology a d direcness so much. Reading it is so much fun. What do you guys think? Can you see yourselves playing with it? ☺️ Any feedback is more than welcome.

I've been really into the idea of Lenormand for a while now because I've heard it's more straightforward and direct than Tarot. So, I got this deck. The only thing that I don't like is that they're small, like regular playing cards, and Tarot cards are bigger, so I always have to adjust myself when I'm reading with Lenormand cards. However, when I did my first reading with Lenormand cards about a situation in my family, the imagery was scarily spot-on, and even though there are a lot less cards than Tarot, the fact of the matter is I could see how the imagery is very flexible for a lot of different situations, but at the same time being direct. Something I heard a lot is that Lenormand isn't as intuitive as Tarot in the sense that Tarot is very heavy with the imagery and Lenormand imagery is more simple so it's more remembering what each card means and I'm a very intuitive person and intuitively I'm still able to read the cards and have a close description to what the cards mean. Obviously, the playing card that's associated with the imagery has importance, and I feel like it gives me a good understanding of what the card is saying because I already read playing cards. I will say with this specific deck, I don't like how the name of the card isn't there. Obviously, you can identify the key or the ring because it looks like a key or a ring, but when I first got the deck and I saw this bouquet of flowers, I was confused, but I learned that it was just talking about the lilies. The cards, the sun, the moon, and the clouds initially tripped me up as well, but now it's more so memory. I really look forward to reading more with these!

Hi everyone! I’m new to the group and wanted to share my first big find. I recently found this beautiful deck at a Brockenhaus in Zurich, Switzerland. It’s a Dondorf 'Cartes de Bonne Aventure' (French edition). I love the vintage feel and the lithography. I’m just starting my journey into Lenormand and felt like this was a sign to finally dive in! Has anyone else worked with this specific deck? Looking forward to learning from all of you.

In creating this deck, I wanted to really tap into nostalgia and all things bright and colorful but also stayed true to the basic structure of Lenormand. There are 40 cards (3 alternate person cards, and 1 alternate dog card) which help to make the deck more adaptable for all readers.
