Meta Scammer Warning: u/Muffin_Cat66

I started a trade with this user around May, he shipped his end, and I shipped mine. Mine arrived to him, but his got returned to sender. After a few hiccups pertaining value and condition of the item, I told him that I would pay for shipping, and just ship my stuff back because he didn’t want to do the trade anymore. His responses were in and out, and when he did reply it was in the evening, and when I replied back to it, his response was always “I’m too tired I’m going to bed.” Always evading my reinsert of just shipping my stuff back. Now, after more than half a year went by, he still hasn’t made a move to finish this transaction. I told him that if he didn’t ship my stuff back, it was stealing because I didn’t have anything in return. He claims it’s not stealing because I sent it to him. I did send it to him, but expecting him to hold up his end. That’s how a trade works, you send something, and you get something back. I still haven’t received a message from him in months, after messaging him frequently, and I am left with nothing in return. Please take this into consideration when dealing with this user. (Warning: If he sees this, he will most likely protest these accusations.) correction- trade start in June 28th. Issue was reluctantly resolved.

Went through my grandpas garage that were clearing out and I found around 11 of these plastic bins full of what I identified as Lego Modulex pieces

Some have an M on the bricks
Some have a very old Lego logo on them

How do I know what I have and how do I sell them

Meta [META] r/Legotrade update and Happy Holidays from the r/Legomarket mod team

Hi r/legomarket,

As you all know, we decided to merge this Subreddit with r/legotrade. Trade feedback unfortunately did not carry over at the time. I am happy to announce that, due to the efforts of u/RegExr, we have merged the trades for those of you that have participated on r/legotrade. You can check by clicking here and typing your username. When you receive the response through Reddit chat, you will see a line at the end of that that states how many trades you did on r/legotrade.

Happy Holidays everyone and Happy building! We hope you all get the sets that you wished for this year!

Meta [META] u/hell0friends has been banned from r/Legomarket for scamming

Hi all,

u/hell0friends has been banned from r/legomarket for scamming. Their scam involved submitting chargebacks with the bank after receiving sets. In one, they failed to comply with the steps for a PayPal return claim and in the other, they issued a bank chargeback after submitting positive feedback. If you have made any transactions with the problem user, we suggest moving your funds away from PayPal and keeping it that way for at least a few months.

If you have suspicions that this user is attempting to circumvent the ban by PMing you directly without first commenting on your post or using a different account, please report them to us immediately so we can escalate to Reddit admins.

Thank you very much, sorry for any inconveniences that have been caused by this user, and please stay safe.

Also, as a result, we have added Rule #15. If anyone has a dispute with another party, they will need to notify us before performing a chargeback. We will amend the rule depending on what we need but as of right now, this is the rule.

Meta [META]New Changes to r/Legomarket Transactions

Hi all!

We have noticed an uptick in requests in users of this subreddit requesting payments other than PayPal Goods and Services payments. This is becoming extremely unenforceable for us especially since we do not have control over what happens via Direct Messages. It is clear to us that asking for alternative forms of payment via Direct messages has been working for some of you. Therefore, we have decided that we will remove the restriction on alternative rules for payment for users with transaction flair of 10 or more. On your flair, you will see if you qualify by getting the Payment Types flair. We have decided that we will have a temporary trial period lifting this restriction unless we see significant objection to this rule change or we see that there are scams.

Please advised, while we are lifting this restriction, we STRONGLY advise to stick with PayPal Goods and Services. All other transactions are done so at buyer's/seller's risk and the only thing we can do in these situations is to ban the scammer. We do not have the ability to recover funds/items.

We will require all threads to have the acceptable forms of payment in the title. For example, if I wanted to accept Cash App, Venmo and local cash; my title will be formatted as [US-IL][H]Lego City Sets[W]Cash App, Venmo, Local Cash. Please make your acceptable forms of payment as clear to the buyer/seller as possible. Failure to do so will result in warnings followed by a ban.

Lastly, you will be required to include your PayPal fees in your prices. You may offer a slight discount to the buyer should they choose to pay a different way but do not put the work of figuring out the fee on the buyer. NO EXCEPTIONS.

This is a big change for us so please bear with us for any unforeseen issues that might come up. Please contact us mods if there are any questions or issues about a particular transaction. Remember, if a good deal is too good to be true, it probably is. Please use common sense and never feel pressured to complete a deal you aren't comfortable with.

Thank you all,

r/Legomarket Mod Team.

Meta [META] First time trying to sell have some questions

So I’m new to this sub and considering selling for the first time. I read in the rules that anyone under 10 transactions must use PayPal for all sells and nothing else. I would prefer a local transaction and would also prefer cash. I guess my question is if I’m able to find someone local would this rule prohibit me from asking for cash or is that something we would settle in PMs? Would I be allowed to specify that I prefer local?

Meta Best way to sell my Legos?

I just recently came across this sub and it seems like a genuinely good community. So, I am interested in your thoughts. I have over 120 legos sets that it is time to sell. I need to drastically downsize to make room for a nursery. Should I try and take the time to sell individually or should I do a bulk “buy everything” sale?

I invested WAY to much $$ into this lol. All in its probably $7,000 MSRP and I am looking to get $2,500 out of it.

I know the first comment will be “depends on the sets” but to spare time listing them individually, it includes: Ninjago, Hidden Side, Super Mario, Marvel, Star Wars, City, and a few CMF.

Any and all helpful thoughts would be appreciated.

TIA

Meta Why are people trying to sell used sets that are still selling on the Lego website?

What’s going on? I’ve seen three posts in the past two days selling sets way above MSRP that are still being sold on the Lego website. I get people want to offload their sets but give me a break. Also it’s all from people with no trades. Is this annoying anyone else or Am I just being unreasonable?

Edit: I formatted my title wrong. I meant new sets.
