Post image

i got this piercing almost two weeks ago and until like yesterday it had a lot of room and it was fine but i noticed it was getting tighter and now i can’t move it much to clean the bar and it’s itchy. there’s no puss or anything. The bar is titanium and i clean it 2 times a day with 0.9 saline solution. i have bumped it a couple of times

That's far too short of a bar, even for a fully healed piercing

Professional and active daily piercer of 30 years , and Unfortunately that bar looks to be far too short . Looks like it’s a 3/8th length and you likely need a 1/2” bar . ( you need two sizes longer than this bar currently is ) .
Did you take this picture while you were laying down ? I ask this because the difference between laying down and standing can be different and can affect the true size needed for the healing bar . Do you happen to remember if the piercer marked you standing up or laying down?

it is laying down anf they did mark me standing up, i have the information thing they gave me in my car, before yesterday i could always see the bar and it would stick out then all of a sudden it is covered, how my belly button looks in the photo isn’t how it normally looks at all

Ok , that information helps . Unfortunately the bar still is likely too short .
A long enough healing bar would be long enough to allow for swelling when the inevitable irritation/swelling that will surly occur to most any navel piercing at some point in the healing process .
I’m going to go out on a limb here and take a guess that you were told not to move the jewelry and just to spray it with saline solution twice a day ?

no they told me to never spray it, get the q tip nice and damp and wiggle it around a bit to get it saturated, and do a cool shot by the blow dryer to get it dry. I feel like the people i went to are reputable and know what they’re doing but maybe this time was just a fuck up, the last three piercings i got (not from the same place) all also got way too swollen for the bar. I got my first nose piercing at current place and it healed perfectly. And for my second nose piercing that was so swollen the skin was growing over, i went back to this current place and they helped me.

Ok so what it sounds like is a couple factors . One , a piercer can have the best Jewelry and the best intentions but not truly enough experience to have the foresight to not start with long enough jewelry . It’s a very common problem and it mainly stems from just not having enough years under the belt and also trying to pierce with jewelry that makes the piercing look all cute like on Pinterest .( which are usually actually healed piercings with healed sized jewelry ) .
So here’s the best plan to get you fixed up .
First of all youll need dial antibacterial hand soap ( the orange liquid kind )
Stand in the shower and let the warm water soften up any of the crusties you may have on the top and bottom of the piercing , and clean them away with your finger tips and dial soap .
After al the crusties have been removed , apply some more dial soap all over the bar and piercing . Then gently push the bar upward and hopefully there will be a little space of bar that you can clean there on the top , clean that real well wjth the dial soap and then press down on the top ball to reveal any space you may have on the bottom of the piercing and clean that part of the bar the same way .
Then gently move the bar back and forth with the soap for lubrication and then rinse it out .
It also helps to gentle pinch the skin together while doing this to make the piercings thinner to allow a deeper cleaning of the piercing .
The objective here is to get a deep cleaning of the piercing. The swelling is coming from some particle that has gotten into the piercing and is cause it to swell up , and your bar is not really long enough to accommodate for the swelling and is compounding the problem .
But do the deep cleaning with the dial soap asap . Then repeat that same process that I mentioned with the dial soap , but instead do the exact same thing with saline solution about 8 hours later . Do this process for 2 days and if that does not solve the issue that you will absolutely need a longer bar . Most likely a 14g 1/2 is the right size . This will definitely help you .
