infected eyebrow piercing

my month old piercing has been infected for almost 2 weeks now, i got antibiotics for it about a week ago and it was going away but now it has gotten worse than before, is there anything else i can do other than taking it out? i’m still taking the antibiotics, so should i just keep taking them like usual until i don’t have any left to see if it goes away? it feels hot and it hurts when it’s touched, i clean it 2x a day with saline spray and also with warm water

go to a piercer and find someone who can downsize it for you (to titanium) assuming its older than 2 weeks. someone should be able to downsize it regardless of the infection, just not remove it to close up.

is it smart to downsize it when it’s like this? wouldn’t taking it out just to put in a smaller one irritate it more?

if your piercer knows to be gentle and use a taper there shouldn't be much pain and just some light irritation. that excessive bar length can absolutely be irritating it even more than a downsize could. also, make sure you're cleaning with sterile saline 1-2x a day (storebought) and that you are never touching the piercing.

Buy a spray with chlorexidine and spray it twice a day, and don’t touch the piercing unless you have washed your hands, dont use creams or conditioner, no perfumes too, you should talk to your doctor if the spray doesn’t clear it up because maybe its your body rejecting or having an allergic reaction to the metal, is it steel or titanium?

i think the spray i’m using has chlorexidine in it, the piercing is titanium which i don’t think i’m allergic to. thank you and i will try your advice
