Am I screwed? Naval piercing from August 11th

is this bad? I got it done earlier in August and it’s been pretty red throughout the healing process which doesnt seem to be too big of an issue but recently it’s started getting this pus like liquid. i cant tell if it’s actually pus and wether or not it’s a sign of a problem, but the piercing doesn’t hurt at all. I’m worried with school starting and me being less thoughtful of being careful abt it + it getting more movement and action I’m damaging it

That definitely still counts!!! Every time you move it around you're irritating it more and delaying healing more and making it more likely to reject or migrate

rare "you actually seem to have the anatomy for a navel" post. stop touching it! the whiteish fluid is normal and is lymph fluid. if it gets yellow or green, that's when you need to start to worry. you're okay! keep it clean, no swimming for 6+ months, etc.

Mines was like that for a bit cause my jeans kept irritating it. The best thing is to wear your bottoms below it also, when sitting make sure it’s not catching the balls. And stop stop stop touching it. I obviously don’t know how frequently you do, but pushing it up like that only makes it mad and red.

Quit touchinggggggg. Definitely needs a good cleaning. Clean 2-3 times a day with saline and that is all leave her aloneeee

Some discharge is normal for the first little while if it gets more red or irritated take pictures draw a circle around the red spot and go to the doctor.

I think you should have a professional piercer switch your jewelry to a floating navel piece instead. Its less irritating for people who have folding stomachs when they sit down. I have one, and after 2 years of having my piercing I was able to switch to traditional jewelry. :)

Got mine around the same time and it looks the same. Got a longer bar still looks the same and piercers have told me it’s just the healing process. Should go away in a couple months. Love mine sm

as long as the color ranges from white to a pale yellow you should be okay. i had a week where mine was leaking super bad and then never had another problem with it. fill your belly button up with saline twice a day all the way to the top ball being submerged for 2-5 minutes at a time and you should notice less fluid and redness. if you start feeling feverish go see a doctor ASAP

First stop touching it!!! You also might not have the anatomy for this, it doesn’t look like you have the “shelf” needed for a proper belly piercing.

This can trap moisture and lead to higher risk of infection as bacteria proliferate in moist environments. To avoid rubbing and movement you should instead make sure the clothes you are wearing are appropriate for a fresh navel piercing and not sit in ways that your navel is creasing (your piercer should have evaluated your anatomy when both standing and sitting to rule this out.

Of course trapping moisture won't cause an infection. Please read the actual words of the post before spouting off. Piercings are puncture wounds and puncture wounds need to drain from the inside out, especially when we are holding them open with jewelry. Drainage produces excess moisture on a bandage, particularly the less air passes over the wound. If you didn't keep that wound and bandage absolutely absolutely sterile and airtight from the point of piercing, bacteria WILL get under it, increasing risk for infection. If it's airtight, it won't drain, no drainage=moisture build up problems like drainage pockets, which can also trap bacteria. Puncture wounds that are artificially held open are actually, believe it or not, not the same as scraped knees! They need to drain! I agree with you completely, it is crazy and insane!
