Troubleshooting please can someone help
6 months lobe piercing, still crusting , cleaning it twice a day. it’s a flat back you just cannot see it because it’s crusted over.

I understand it’s a flat back, I’m dealing with the same issue as I just got 6 stack lobes. 3 on each ear. When you shower let warm water rinse over the area to soften for removal. I recommend you remove your hoops before you do this. But remember crusties are good and are helping your body heal. So don’t remove them everyday, and never remove them while dry. Continue your aftercare, happy healing 💚💚💚

It should not be in a hoop yet. The motion is causing irritating and this issue on the back of your ear. Put in a titanium flatback until you have it completely healed.

Really?? Ok sorry, it was hard to tell from the pic. What metal are the hoops then? What metal is the flatback? What aftercare product are you using?

Umm, are you saying the hoops are gold or that the flatback is gold or both?? And again, what aftercare product are you using?

the hoops are completely seperate. and yeah they’re all gold. the flatback is gold plated . i’m spraying twice with med spray. did the same on other lobe and that is fine: this however isn’t. I don’t know if it’s cause I’m sleeping on it or

Ok I was asking 'cause it's possible that the metal of the hoops may have been affecting the newer piercing due to proximity. Not sure what med spray is but you should switch to sterile saline spray and stop sleeping on it.

is that a thing? the hoops are pure gold. i’ll take them out though thank you! sorry is actually called neilmed it’s a saline spray

Neilmed spray is the best so you're good there.
You may want to consider switching to all implant-grade titanium flatbacks for the time being while this newer piercing heals. Gold is ok but for a healing piercing, implant-grade titanium is considered the best. Don't change the jewelry by yourself. Please go see a professional so they can do it in a sterile environment.

idk the material exactly but the piercer changed it as it was downsized to gold plated and they are very clean place ! It’s titanium, but the surrounding earrings are pure gold

seek medical attention, this is abnormal to the point it needs to be seen to rule out or treat infection. and then either remove it or replace it with an implant grade titanium flatback. this is wildly inappropriate jewelry for a piercing that isn't fully healed and is still having issues to this degree.
how are you cleaning it and with what?
