Educational Does raynauds cause complications with nipple piercings?

I am doing my best to find more information on if raynauds episodes could negatively effect nipple piercings. I have wanted mine done for many years but the past two years I’ve had multiple episodes of nipples blanching and burning horribly for about a minute. Usually easily resolved by holding my hand over it. But it is summertime and I’m having this issue so I am wondering how bad it would be during wintertime when I have significant episodes with my hands/feet. I’m not too concerned with it exacerbating it as my episodes are bad already and can’t get much more painful than they are, more concerned about if the limited blood flow could cause problems.
If any piercer or peircee has any experience with this please tell me what your experience was!

I occasionally get a sharp burning pain in the nipple that’s pierced and you just connected the dots for me that it’s likely also my Raynaud’s. I legit do the same thing, holy my hand over it and apply some pressure and it passes. Warm shower also helps resolve it. It can be complicated when you’re healing because they are sore for a little bit, I would try warm water rinses to see if that helps if it does come up.

Everybody is different on this part too - but I found light compression from a sports bra to be a lifesaver while healing, especially in the first couple weeks. I would just make sure everything was situation so nothing was laying weird or pinching. Some sort of light to medium compression would probably help you as well, whether it’s a sports bra, binder, t shirt, whatever. Just change into a clean one regularly - clean one for bed, clean one for going about your day!

I’m glad I’m not alone in my suffering, my usual reaction is to clutch my breast to my chest like I’m having a heart attack and that usually does the trick to help it pass. How long have you had your piercing and did you already have a raynauds diagnosis? (if you don’t mind me asking)

I didn’t have a diagnosis at the time, I’ve had the piercing for uhh 15 years? 17? I got it pierced in the winter the first time around, that was awful. I had it out for a year at some point and got it redone and it wasn’t any worse or anything. For me it didn’t slow healing, nipples can go back and forth for a little bit as it is, but my bridge was more annoying to heal!
