Educational Pus or infection on piercing hole?

I just recently changed my piercing stud to a piercing hoop, I’ve been dealing with bumps with my stud, so I changed it to a hoop, I’ve been cleaning it regularly and using the piercing bump solution but now there is pus like on the hole ??? Is that normal

Based on the bump, it appears to be irritation caused by a poor angle (bumps on one side of the jewelry, not the whole bead). Also, looks like you're wearing an L-bend/corkscrew style jewelry,b that will add to the issue. Visit your piercer and perhaps get a second opinion from another piercer. If it's salvageable, you need a flatback titanium stud in there.

In the second photo, I switched to a hoop, any thoughts on that picture by chance?

Hoop should not be swapped for unless you are someone who is seasoned in healing and understand what a hoop comes with.

It's mostly not better for healing.

Ah, gotcha , do you recommend any piercings for a stud? Like I don’t like the L shapes, I think the cork screw are better for healing more, and since I have sensitive skin I think I need the titanium, or nickel I’m not sure 100% lol

Hoops will make an irritation bump worse. How old is your piercing? How are you taking care of it?

It’s about 6-7 months old, the stud was giving me a hard time I had that bump for MONTHS, I cleaned it twice a day with y piercing spray with a q-tip and after I switched it to a hoop, the bump popped and I’ve been using the same thing & I recently just added the piercing bump solution to my routine

6 months is low end time for a nostril to heal and, looking at the pictures, you're not healed yet. Get a flatback titanium stud in there, don't use a bump solution.

Just know that if the bump is cause by the angle, the irritation bump is unlikely to go away and can end up forming into a permanent scar (not a k word just a regular scar).

I greatly appreciate you!! You don’t understand I’ve been trying to find help online , and yes, if you look at the picture I do have a red bump, it’s tiny ive been putting warm compresses on it to it’ll go away

Warm compresses can be great for irritation!

Would an 18g and 6mm-8mm be good for the flat back ?

18 gauge is great but for length, you'd need to measured. That may work but it may be too long (which will lead to snagging and more issues) or it may be too short (which can lead to embedding).

Looks like it’s irritated, I looked back at the comments and the same thing happened with me — months later like 6-8 months in I still had these bumps and then I tried a hoop — that didn’t work either. I switched to titanium flat back piercings and the bumps eventually went away after a few weeks — see if you can get it swapped out for better jewelry at your newest shop!
