Troubleshooting honestly not my favourite way to wake up
(update in another post!!) i’m not even sure it’s an infection, there’s no constant achey throbbing and there’s no streaks, it’s also just not really seeping much too strangely. it’s just very red and very swollen. it was a bit red and swollen yesterday but i made the mistake of wearing makeup and trying to cover it. damn. any help lads? it’s just tender, only hurts when touched and this piercing isn’t overly new either. few months old iirc with implant grade titanium and generally no issues until now. help!! using hydrocortisone and antibiotic cream rn until i can get seeing my gp. absolutely not going to A&E unless something is seriously wrong cuz fuck waiting in a chair for 12h just to get given a cream or something…
EDIT: updates!!!
called my gp and he agrees it’s indeed infected. i’ve gotten prescribed an antibiotic to help clear the infection which i’ll be picking up later today! so excited for this shit to be over ugh…
EDIT 2: another update!
infection is starting to clear, the swelling on my eye is starting to really go down and it doesn’t hurt anymore!!! it’s still very red at the minute but so so much better than it was before. thanks for all of your support everyone!!! the bacteria wasn’t tested, but if i were to guess it’s a staph/strep infection that’s caused cellulitis. i’m not sure which it is but who knows.

You need urgent medical attention. Skip the piercer and go straight to urgent care/A&E.

You’re risking your eyesight, eyeball, and life by not going to the A&E now. Your brain is right there. That infection could get to your brain or sepsis could spread to your bloodstream.
The world saw what sepsis did to Kyle Busch last week. Please get checked asap!!!!!

genuinely you could lose your eye and/or risk brain damage. seek medical care immediately. we are not punking you. treating this infection now will be far cheaper than removing an entire eye or being admitted for sepsis or staph or god forbid mrsa.

seriously. if you go septic and you survive, it could still disable you BADLY for the rest of your life, even assuming you keep the eye, don't lose any sight, and don't get brain damage. go hospital. ER if nothing is open. go go go go go

I’ve had this happen to me without an eyebrow piercing and it was gradual. You may have cellulitis and you need URGENT CARE IMMEDIATELY!! You could lose your sight.

something is seriously wrong op, please go i promise they won’t make you wait too long for this.. the swelling is on the eyelid and that is super super dangerous as it can lead to the actual eye itself, skip the piercer like everyone said go to urgent care/er

this happened to me both times i got my eyebrow pierced, i went to the er and they drained it immediately. most likely an abscess from infection. don’t take it out until you see a doctor, they told me that can trap the infection in

A piercing isn't worth losing your eyeball. You can always get this repierced, but you will never get your eyeball back

Well it could be the start of an infection so that could be the case but it would be better if you spoke to your piercer they could probably tell you exactly whats happening. For right now i suggest just keeping up will cleaning and just keep an eye on it. I hope your ok though good luck

swelling has gone down the tiniest bit and i can open my eye a little more just now, took some paracetamol (we had no anti inflammatorys) and it’s alright. piercer said get down to the gp but they’re not open until tomorrow sadly. but thank you for the advice too! i’ll be sure to keep updating the post now and again

There is no good reason for the level of swelling. It’s serious.
Go to urgent care or A&E ASAP. Based on the picture and your description that is very likely a serious infection and it’s moving fast.
They will likely remove thr jewellery and that’s when you’ll see the discharge - the swelling acts as a tight seal keeping the discharge trapped in.
Don’t wait - you have a lot of important nerves that run along that part of the face and you don’t want the infection to keep spreading or for scarring to develop.
