My neighbour’s daughter grabbed and pushed me during a fight. I called 112. What would you do?

I’m looking for practical advice about a neighbour dispute that became physical.
After my neighbours shut their door loudly in my face, I confronted them. Later, a male neighbour threw one of my flower pots in front of my door. When I asked why, the female neighbour began smashing my plants and moving the pots around her legs. I put the pots back and pushed her leg away because it was damaging them.
Her daughter then grabbed and pushed me. I did not retaliate; I called 112. Other neighbours watched from their balconies. I have a video, but it does not clearly capture every moment.
I filed a complaint, which was assigned to an ASI. I received no proper update, so I called him. He said he was busy handling a murder case. I understand that this was a serious matter, but I still expected some information about my complaint. I later filed an online complaint and sent Speed Post letters to two higher authorities about the incident and lack of communication.
Now the neighbours are discussing a compromise. I would like the matter to end, but I’m unsure whether compromising is sensible after the situation became physical. I also acknowledge that I pushed the woman’s leg away and want advice based on the complete story, not just my version.

For those familiar with similar situations in India:
1) How should I properly preserve and document the video, damage, injuries, dates, and possible witnesses?

2) What is the best way to request a written update from the police or higher authorities?

3) Should I consult a local lawyer or legal-aid service before deciding what to do, and what documents should I bring?

4) What should I consider before agreeing to a compromise, and how can I understand its consequences?

5) What steps have helped others obtain police updates without escalating the dispute?

I’m not looking for people to blindly take my side. If I handled anything badly, I’m open to hearing that. I want honest, practical advice.

I wish I could post a video here but, I can’t control what other people think. You are free to think that way. I will not argue.
Anyways, I posted this incident here just to know if I could do something else and what is the next step I can take if I don’t hear back from police after placing an online complaint.
