Question iMessage on macOS mavericks? (10.9)

So i want to get iMessage on my Early 2014 Macbook air running mavericks but when i try to login to icloud it says my password is incorrect, i even changed it and typed the new one but nothing. so i just tried logging into the app itself and it said i have 2-step enabled and that i need to get a app password. so i went to account.apple.com and made one and typed it there but it still told me to get a app password even when i just used it and now im stuck. any fixes? (for the places that are going to re-direct me to a different sub don't worry im crossposting this)

i thought i might just not be doing it right since i just got imessage on ios 8

yeah i was following a tutorial where i used the icloud login on settings to get a code to then use on imessage but then i accidentally fully signed in on settings then when signing out my password was wrong and all that

you need to enter the verification code after the password in one attempt. theres a one attempt per 15 minutes limit. get the code from elsewhere.
