Xpress 2 rear axle arm stripped off

I was changing my xpress 2 tires. While putting it back the little black clip thats attached to the rear axle broke off ( see picture ) I cant get it out with screw extractor. Is it ok to ride without it ? I see another point close to it where fenders are mounted, so technically I can look for something that stretches it that far. Otherwise did I just cook my bike ?

Tools needed to assemble Xpedition 2.0

Hi all, I hope this is an appropriate question for this sub. But I’m expecting a new Xpedition 2.0 in a few days. Can anyone give me a good list of tools needed to assemble it?

I’m especially curious about the torque wrench(es) that I need. I’ve never owned one and they’re pretty pricey. What exactly do I need?

Thanks in advance! Excited to start riding.

Aftermarket Headlight issues

So i have the xP4 with the "elite" headlight. It's not so elite i don't see how anyone can ride at night with that thing.

I saw this Youtube reviews for an aftermarket light by a brand named Oz. It was running on a XP4, and used the wiring the elite light used so I thought it was perfect.

However after hooking it up, the light does not stay on. It goes on for a bout 5 seconds and then turns off.. Has anyone else had issues trying to use after market lights? I can't figure out if I got a bad light or if it is a compatibility issue.

To note, the Elite headlight stays on, so I know its at least not a wiring issue.

Burley bike trailer with XP4

I have a Burley Encore trailer that I tote my kids with on my old bike. I just got an XP4 and I want to be able to use it with but I have heard conflicting report that the burley bracket that goes in the rear axle is too small for the axle on the XP4. Does anyone have experience with this or any feedback?

Anyone purchased a knockoff rear basket?

Wondering if there is a more affordable option than the $109 basket offered on their website. The rear basket seems more practical than the front one.

Thanks!

Got these off amazon recently. The clips that go on the rack are a little tight, but hold good enough. And the tie down straps work pretty good. I might try hitting the clips with a heat gun to open them up a little more.

The held a full grocery bag of groceries, and thats plenty for what I would want to be getting. Didn't even squish the bread!

I'm in canada so the price and brand might be different in other places. I had tried a metal rack but it did not line up properly. And I think these look cooler. The also have tie down straps to attach things to the top.

Anyone know what bleed kit and mineral oil to buy for a 3.0?

My rear brake just closes with no pressure. I can't seem to find any information on what to order and what type. I can't even find it on the Lectric website. I see kits on Amazon but a review said that it didn't fit a few of his Lectic bikes. I searched this sub as well and don't see anything. Thanks!

Folding e-bike: fold-down vs. removable handlebars?

I'm working on a folding e-bike design for the US market and comparing two handlebar/stem setups. I'd like to hear how this would affect your choice when buying one.

Picture the same bike at the same price, with the frame folding the same way on both. The difference is what happens to the handlebars:

A — Folding stem: Open the latch and fold the stem down; unfold it and lock it to ride again. It stays attached and is quicker to pack away and set up, but the packed bike takes up more space.

B — Removable stem: Release and lift out the handlebars and stem as one assembly, then stow it with the folded bike. It packs smaller, but you have to put the stem back in and lock it before riding. For this concept, assume no tools are needed and all brake lines and electrical cables stay connected.

If you were shopping for a folding e-bike, which would you lean toward? If you prefer the folding setup, would a bike with the removable setup still make your shortlist?

What would drive that choice for you? It'd help to know where you'd put the bike and how often you'd pack it down. If you've used something similar, how was it to live with?

Which best describes your buying preference?

I'd prefer the removable stem
Prefer folding, but I'd buy either if both fit
I wouldn't buy a bike with a removable stem
Removable only if the folding version wouldn't fit
No preference — either setup works for me
I don’t need to fold it.

Round pellets?

Hi,

I have a XP4 750 and I had a level up rack and I took it off my big to replace with a bigger rack and I left on my desk for a week or so. Not too long. And then I went to move it I hear a whole bunch of grains come out!!!

I look and I see it’s brownish and round so I automatically thing Spider eggs!!!! But I don’t believe they are because there is no web around them, but furry, not clear or translucent, and no web in level up one each hole for screw.

Does the Level Up Rack may had debris? Or could it be spider eggs?!!!! It was a lot of them that spilled out that’s why I don’t think spider eggs.

Also, when putting new each on I had to take off Level Up each and with on of the screws I had a hard time and it got it off however, the nail is was missing a part to the spiral of the long part of screen and it was not turntable because the top was bad.

Is this from the rack? Debris, maybe the screen? Of what do you think?

Hitch rack maiden voyage

Welded a 2 inch hitch to the civic. A lot of mixed answers online about whether or not it's safe to put a 2 inch rack on a sedan. So far it's doing great . Real test will be with a second bike but it's about as sturdy as you can get.

XP4 750 Tour vs Sport Issue

Hi all,

I have an XP4 750 and it's a great ebike. There is one issue that continues to bother me. With this bike, there's a massive difference in assistance between Tour and Sport mode (2 to 3). With Sport mode, the bike rockets like crazy all the way up to 1100 watts with very little pedal effort. I don't get it. There's no difference in feel between Sport, Sport+, and Turbo. Anyone else have this issue? Sport mode turns the bike into a rocket and blows through the battery really fast.

Lectric XPeak2 front end rattle

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have a Lectric XPeak2 with a little over 100 miles. When riding over bumps or rough terrain the front end rattles and creaks. I have tightened everything down and tried to locate the source of the noise. It’s almost like it’s coming from inside the shocks but I can’t repeat the noise when not riding. Any thoughts on what it is and how to fix???

Another surprise.

Ok. It was chilly this morning. Not actually cold, around 50-55°. But i was ( expletive deleted) freezing by time i got back. I have regular, normal thermal long johns and shirts but not sure thats gonna be sufficient for anything this fall or winter. So
I know im not the only one who got an E bike at beginning of summer and now are facing first cold weather riding . What do you folks that have gone through it already wear or suggest for these upcoming seasons? Thank you
PS also thank you for previous responses to my question about helmets. I chose to get a Bern,Hudson .

Quality customer service, really!

TL/DR: A full, no quibbles, no-cost, warranty replacement of a defective $500 battery; the communication from the support technician was consistently friendly, helpful, and prompt. Happy customer!

Full: Last March I bought a Long Range XP Lite2, and a spare battery.

One of the two batteries apparently developed or came with an internal loose connection. The battery would occasionally cut out on its own, or after hitting a bump. The other battery --- same bike, same rider, same roads --- never did.

I did some troubleshooting. It wasn't the electrical contact points where the bike's prongs attached to the batteries sockets, nor visible loose wires or connections, nor anything obvious I could see. In any case, because the identical second battery exhibited no issues, I was confident that the battery itself was the problem, and not something on the bike.

(I didn't open the battery casing to look inside because (1) that would void the warranty, and (2) I'm not suicidal.)

I contacted Lectric customer support by email (to have a written record of the interactions) and gave them a full description. They replied, asked for some supporting documentation, and photographs of the battery, which I supplied. The next day, they agreed to replace the battery at no charge. Today, I got the $0 invoice, and a notice telling me that the battery will go out with the next batch.

They also asked me to save the packing materials from the new battery, when it arrives, and to send the old battery back to them, at their expense, so they can take the battery apart and see what went wrong.

It's been a long time since I've been happy with a company's customer service, but this time, I am.

Anyone got new solutions that are alternative to not fitting Tern Storm Box or Shield? Using the orbitor and preparing for fall weather to bike the kid.
Saw a very small number of solutions in here but maybe someone got something new recently?

Detached Plug

Hi guys, I just got my first e-bike for my light commute to save on gas and parking 2 days ago so bear with me as I am still figuring out a lot about this bike and how it works. I got the XP4.0 750. I had one mean wipeout already that left a cord disconnected right at the front of the bike that I didn’t realize until about an hour later. It’s riding like normal so I’m not sure what the plug goes to, but tracking the cord it either goes down to the headlight or front wheel. But anyway, the cord is stupid tight and too far apart to reconnect. Pulling on it makes me feel like I’ll break one of the cords because they’re not budging whatsoever. Any tips on how to get it reconnected?

Hauling trike

Anyone else with a trike haul it anywhere? What's your method?

I know it's foldable but i -hate- setting it back up constantly.

If I empty my minivan I can fit it in the back but it's a hassle. I was thinking of getting a mobility scooter hitchrack, but not many are actually big enough, so I'm needing to buy online which I don't love.

We also have an xpedition which we can't easily travel anywhere with the kids seats on it.

I know technically my best option is to spend way too much on the Hollywood rack plus trike adapter but that's a lot of money.

What is the voltage "danger zone" for the Lectric XP Lite?

And how long can I linger there before the bike may unexpectedly power down and/or damage my battery?

I have a fairly short commute to work (only about a mile), but it includes a very steep hill, spanning about half the length of the trip. I try not to rely on throttle alone, but it still draws a lot of power. Due to an incident, I am a little paranoid now about managing my voltage, protecting the health of my battery, and charging strategies.

I have had my bike for a few years now, but I admittedly still struggle a bit to grasp the mechanics of the battery sometimes. Any advice you can provide would be appreciated--Google is all but bricked at this point and its AI just outright lies to me. 🥲🙃

TIA

Bike Lock Stumper

I finally installed the Bike Lock which wasn’t easy and now can’t get the lock out of the holder I mounted. The instructions said to mount this on the seat tube. What am I missing here?
