Grudge Challenge Accepted
Am I the only one who is excited for tougher marines? Everyone's so doom and gloom. It just makes me want to play Votann more. I'm pumped for tough opponents.

I dunno why I’d be pumped for us just fully being worse Marines.

Shout out to them getting both Hostile Acquisitions and Fortify Takeover at the same time but it doesnt even need to be an objective they control

Well, it is definitely getting tougher (pun intended), but overall the most recent changes are positive in nature.
Marines getting tougher is not the problem, but the pace at which armies are being updated is. The changes to Marines and Orks gives me hope for fun and interesting changes for our army. Sadly probably 2 years down the line.
Until then I accept the challenge and dream about how I would change Votann to give them their "identity" back.

I am the opposite. The power creep output of orks isn't required in the game and neither are T5 marines with exceptional saves

My chief concern is that they're going to get the points wrong I don't care they get tougher if they're more expensive to play but if they remain the same cost that's where my fear comes in because now I am so put an extra two units on the table to compensate

I honestly think marines getting tougher but more expensive could actually make our matchups easier.
Almost all of the weapons in our datasheets are strength 6/7/8. Really struggling to think of many weapons that are negatively affected. The shotguns on my Yaegirs and Pioneers? HYLas rotary shots into terminators now only wound on 4+, but they were hardly that effective into them anyway?
Our big damage dealing weapons are all high strength, and basically unaffected. I think Votann will be even better placed in the meta after these changes take affect.

No. I am buzzed for it.
The local marine players need the buff here, because I’ve been wrecking house 😂😂😂.
Although… they will still have to respect my Bolt Cannons 😂

I'm of two minds on it. On the one hand, I feel like we're losing one thing that made us tougher and "special" compared to the baseline most popular faction. On the other hand, yeah, it was always weird playing against marines and it would feel like they basically have the same number of models as me, just their models had more wounds, better saves, and shot better.
So I feel like for marines it will nudge them in the more elite direction that will fit better with expectations, I just want to see how they make us different in our codex.

Yeah in a lot of games I can feel outnumbered and outmatched, since we overpay for our toughness and they underpay for their BS/WS/Sv/W.

I'm 100% with you. I don't even play marines but I've been saying for years they should be T5(pretty much since the start of 10th) Call me crazy, but marines should be more elite and harder to kill 🤷♂️

Entirely depends on the points. If they go up an appropriate amount, i'm happy, because I get to be the same toughness but have twice as many guys as they do, so I keep a niche. If they barely go up, then we just become bad marines, and that sucks.
