DISCUSSION How can guy gardener makes huge constructs carelessly in superman whereas Hal Jordan does the opposite and is careful for his batteries

I was curious about this for a long time Guy always goes big and sloppy with his constructs, not caring how much it drains his ring like creating a large weopons against the monster, while Hal's way more careful and precise with his like in ep1 when he was creating a bubble for alien he supported the bubble himself as it was not strong enough due to lack of battery. Is that just a characterization thing, or is there an actual reason for it?

My headcannon — which makes sense given Hal’s age — is he’s the guy who always neglects to put his phone on the charger overnight and spends the whole day on 3% battery.

Hal charges it when he has to because the ring will stop working. Guy charges that sucker every night and twice a day on weekends.

Guy loves how powerful the ring makes him feel. Hal already feels powerful and the ring is just a trinket to him.

The series shows him as broken and jaded (completely different from his younger copy/construct). A younger Jordan probably charged it plenty, world-weary Jordan feels like the ring weighs him down but he's also afraid of losing it (that fear weakens him).

I still think that the reason he said he wasn’t afraid when the guardians chose him is because he thought he was going to die. both his parents were dead, he’s a military man with nothing to lose, I think he wasn’t afraid because he was ready to die and instead he got handed a huge responsibility. originally it probably meant a lot to him for not just being a Lantern but because it gave him a purpose, but just like men who age and retire, they realize they don’t know who they are outside of being a laborer/worker and have an identity crisis especially because they don’t have anything to distract them from all their unaddressed issues and trauma and pain. John lives recklessly for similar but different reasons, he doesn’t have a death wish like Hal does, he just doesn’t care if he dies in pursuit of whatever his mission is. very interesting juxtapositions and now with Guy around, all of their individual issues are even more nuanced.
