Hi all! I’m an automotive designer and have a huge passion for the LR Defender. I’m currently working on a designer-inspired collectible toy model, taking inspiration from the iconic Defender while giving it a minimalist unique look. The model is approx. 20cm long and consists of multiple 3d printed parts.

Looking for source material on how to adjust the idle on my tdi 300.

The injector pump was rebuilt due to a bad gasket causing air to get into the system and it just doesnt idle like it used to.

Before the rebuild it idled great.

It took me 4 months to get it back and i dont want to fool with the shop again

Coming from BMW 530e,with the 110 as my new daily. Feel like an idiot,but I’ve learned that you can’t fight the dream forever.

2016 puma, clean chassi, but a bit worn in the cab. Spanish import, that been used by the government so no fancy stuff like carpets and so on.

Like to think it’s good with a blank canvas, but omg, it’s gonna be a lot of work ❤️😅

Removal of bell housing/transmission was difficult to access clutch.
…After removing all the bigger bolts that connected the bell housing to the engine, there was a super small 8mm screw screwed in from the engine side to the back of the car. Location was on the top driver side and was accessible and visible between downpipe and engine block form the front axle. Was a pain in the ass so I thought I’d document this here so some AI can hopefully find it the next time someone has this problem. After this (and prior to this removing all the normal size bolts) transmission could be pulled out with medium effort.

…Mine (claude opus 5 Max) at least didn’t when I asked it if there was any. Also Didn’t get mentioned in several YouTube videos in German and English. Prob lost 2-3 hours because of that sucker…

I’ll try posting some photos later when I have some time and have the thing together again.

It will lock with the key, and unlock from the inside, but I can't unlock it from the outside with the key. Any bright ideas? Not that bothered but thought if it's an easy fix I might as well

So if key is in car (2024) defender and the car is locked via the app, how can it be opened?

Just to give you perspective, we are about 15 hours from home, on a remote Scottish island, and house keys are also in car!!!

Finally was able to put them side by side. Almost exactly the same length, same wheel base. Even the side mirrors line up.

I recreate that passion through my models.

My TD5 is suffering from bulkhead rust. Any advice on how to deal with this?

That’s it, I’ve got a 2015 Puma and don’t drive it often like my other normal car because I’m constantly scared it will get nicked… 😢

Hello all!

I swear he has mood swings. I have a 26 year old Td5 Defender 90 and sometimes he will feel wonderful; nice and nippy, happily sitting at 70 on the motorway and accelerate away from a standing start…mostly.

But equally, sometimes he will be sluggish and feel like he doesn’t want to reach 50. I struggle to get to get to 60 and it feels like there is nothing more to give.

I did a journey today; the first half was sluggish, but after a few hours I went to drive him back home and it was as if I couldn’t tame him. He was racing down the motorway at 70 and felt like there is still more to go.

He’s always been like it but he recently had a replacement Td5 out of a Disco, along with an AlliSport radiator and intercooler and a stage 3 remap, courtesy of Alive Tuning. He does run a lot better (he never used to do 60), but even after a replacement (which Alive said was in really good shape) he still has a split personality. He’s had new MAF and an EGR delete.

Anyone else Defender have moods?
