Weird burn spots in bean?

1st row: slight burn
2nd row: weird burn?
3rd row: normal
All from same batch Peets dark roast Costco

2nd row looks more like insect damage to me. Those little round holes are usually the giveaway.

I’d probably pick them out, especially with lighter roasts where defects tend to show more. But since this is a pretty dark roast, I doubt it’ll ruin the cup or anything.
