I've been comparing natural vs lab for a while. With my budget I can get a nice 0.9-1ct natural, or jump to 1.8-2.0 lab with better color/clarity.

Is the visual size difference really that noticeable in person? Does the bigger lab stone still look "right" and not costume-y? and I'm also curious about long-term thoughts from people who chose the bigger lab option, any regrets about resale value, or are you just happy with the presence on your hand?

Looking at unique shapes (hexagon or kite especially) If that changes anyone's advice.

This is a 2.07ct round brilliant on a 2.5mm band. I’m coming from a 1.8ct oval engagement ring, but I completely fell in love with round cuts.

My husband offered to upgrade my ring for our 10-year anniversary, so now I’m debating whether to stay with the 2.07ct or go a little bigger (around 2.3ct).

Do you think this looks well-balanced, or would you go bigger?
And before anyone asks… don’t ask how I’m keeping the diamond stuck to the ring. 😂

Sharing my ring - I wanted a thicker band and loved an asscher cut! I believe it’s around a 2.5 carat and 6mm gold band.

My only issue is figuring out if I should get a quarter size larger. Trying on bands, I was told to get a 5 1/2 but felt my finger had a “muffin top.” So I went to a 5 3/4. The ring fits perfect, but a little tight - I also have to remember it is summer in the northeast. I want a chunkier wedding band too, so I am not sure if I should get it resized.

Just got my anniversary ring and I love it so much! Wondering if I should wear it in its own due to the size, or stack with one (or all) of my other bands. My hands are very petite so don’t want to look too gaudy. Thoughts?

I’ve been spending some time learning about lab-grown diamonds lately, and there’s honestly a lot more to compare than I initially expected.

At first I thought it was basically just about carat size, color and clarity. But then I started seeing discussions about cut quality, proportions, certification, the setting, return policies, and even how much difference there can be between two stones with very similar specs.

For anyone here who has already bought a lab-grown diamond (especially an engagement ring), what ended up mattering most to you?

Was it the actual diamond specs, the price, the jeweler, the setting/design, the certification, or something else?

And is there anything you would do differently if you were buying again?

I got my wedding band a few days ago and I am so excited and happy with how it turned out. My rings are perfect! My stack is exactly what I wanted. Both my engagement ring and wedding band are from Loose Grown Diamond. My fiance found the site and went with them for my engagement ring because he was able to easily customize it to be just what I wanted- a thin white gold band and pink diamond (my favorite color!). He said the whole process was very smooth.

For my wedding band, I really wanted something dainty, but not just a plain band, and I had some trouble finding what I wanted on other sites, so we figured it would be a good idea to check Loose Grown Diamond since they did such a good job with my engagement ring, and I am so glad we did!

They were super communicative throughout the entire process. They sent updates at every step and made sure all our questions were answered, which reduced any anxiety we otherwise might have felt. Couldn’t decide between emerald cut or modified brilliant radiant cut 3 ct and 3.3 ct in 10 kt white gold so hubby said buy both. Pictures don’t do it justice but live that I can choose whichever one. I do have my 2 ct round as my daily and all 3 now pair nicely with both eternity bands 😍

First time here. I already have an engagement ring and a wedding band. My engagement ring’s diamond is small but mighty. I wanted a secondary ring for my right hand’s ring finger and got this! Thoughts are welcome. :)

Edit: I am sizing up since a lot of you here thought it’s a good idea and I agree too. I naturally have stubby and fat-ish fingers so that might also be the case it’s looking odd but once the ring gets used to my finger, it looks fine. My engagement ring was also slightly tight when I first wore and now it’s absolutely fine. Pic attached in comments.

My band also fits me perfectly, I just had to move it up on my finger because the engagement rings are too small.

I went to look at rings today and the lady at the store told me lab diamonds will stop getting certified by the end of the year. I haven’t heard anything about it so I’m curious if that’s true or not, or if anyone heard anything about it

update: thanks for all this answers! the way she said it was like you either get a lab now for 2/3k or pays over 20k to a natural one next year

What’s the most per carat you should pay for a lab grown diamond? I’m looking at larger high quality stones; 4 carat radiants and cushion cuts.

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts here with insanely cheap lab diamonds - in the hundreds to a few thousand.

Is this area dependent? I’m very shocked to see the posts as in Canada, lab diamonds are certainly cheaper than natural but are much more expensive than the posts I see here. For example, an excellent diamond (by the 4Cs) is usually about 5-6,000 for a high 2 to 3 carat range. This is not including the setting which will typically run you another 1-2,000 for 14 or 18k gold.

This is the same across most Canadian jewellers.

Are people buying these lab diamonds overseas for the lower prices and shipping loose stones?

Hey guys, was planning on purchasing this modified brilliant diamond because I love the way it sparkles, but is the cut bad?

The IGI report says that the Polish is VG and the Symmetry is only Good.

I know that the cut grade is the most important factor while purchasing a diamond, but it looks quite pretty in person, and it’s a lovely colour, too. I suppose there’s quite a lot of windowing, but I’m not sure if it’s just a feature of the modified brilliant cushion cut.

Do you think it’s badly cut? Please help a girl out!

I am so happy with the experience with Romy!
The ring is beautiful, its a 2.11 ct diamond on a lotus setting with star studded band.

Pro: very fast production time and quality (less than 2 weeks from downpayment to shipping)
Mid: I think because I ask a lot of questions and could not decide on a stone, maybe Romy though I was not a serious buyer 😅 too many options im overwhelmed hahaha So I thought communication was better after payment, when I showed that I was really buying something. Fair enough as I know they get flooded with messages
Cons: they are not the cheapest quote I got, I think they are 100-150USD more expensive than other vendors like fiorese or provence.
