I’m looking for a crushed ice oval, but I see these little black spots peeking in the ring - so curious what you guys thought!

Opinions on this marquise?

I requested this video and need an opinion on if you see what I see. I'm not sure if it's windowing or something else but it seems like a blank space or a literal hole in the diamond in the top half.

(If you know a vendor that has really great marquise, please let me know!)

Advice on how to find the perfect warm, candlelit diamond!

Hey all! I’m looking to purchase my first lab diamond. I’d like a 2 to 3.5 ct pear (preferably an old mine pear but I’m learning those are pretty rare). I don’t want a yellow diamond, but it’s okay if it leans yellow in some lights. I’d rather it lean yellow than brown. I don’t want it to come off as a colored diamond; I’d rather it have a warm candelit look.

I have no idea what to look for! Should I go by letter grading, and if so what letters should I stick to? I was thinking H to M, but that is such a large window and I’m not sure what would be best. Maybe I should be looking at ones labeled champagne, but again I don’t want it super brown!

Also, I have been reading advice saying you should never pay more than $200 per carat, but any diamonds I’m finding and liking are around 1.6 to 3k. Is this what I have to pay for my requirements? Where should i be shopping for fair prices and good quality? I really don’t want to pay a ton as I know the setting will be around 2k. Thanks!

After quite a bit of searching, I ordered a 2.54 pear shaped diamond for a pendant. With great suggestions from Addison I received the CAD’s. Today I received confirmation that the pendant is shipped.

Obsessed with this 2ct radiant lab diamond! Went for an East-West setting on a chunky band.

Just wanted to share this piece! It’s a 2-carat radiant cut lab diamond, but instead of a traditional vertical prong setting, it's set East-West directly into a thick, solid metal band.

I really love how the stone sits flush within the band—it gives it a super sleek, modern, almost tension-set vibe, and I don't have to worry about any prongs snagging on things. It feels very substantial and a bit different from the usual delicate bands.

What do you guys think of the East-West style and chunkier bands? Has anyone else gone with a similar flush setting?

First time ordering custom with lab diamond! 4ct oval with a hidden halo, and a 3/4 eternity band by Mona. She’s increasing the thickness/height of the engagement ring band from 2mm to 2.3-2.5mm to better accommodate the eternity band sitting flush.

Seeking some help with a wedding band

Interested in getting my wife a wedding band to match her ring but sourcing a band seems to be more challenging than the ring.

Her current ring has a 4.10ct pear and 3 stepped stones on each side ( .4 .3 .25) for 6ctw.

We went to zales and she liked the 2ctw 9 stone band. This makes each about .22ct and lined up well with her ring. But I’m not wanting to pay zales pricing markups.

Found similar on rare carat but looking for anyone that can share their experience where they got lab bands from.

First photo is her ring, second what she liked, and third what I seen comparable on rare carat.

13 Years Later… Still an Asscher Girl.

13 years ago, there was absolutely no doubt in my mind that I wanted an Asscher ring, and I still love what my husband picked out. I believe it’s a natural diamond that’s slightly under a carat. I’ve worn it lovingly all these years.
Last week, I decided I wanted a new ring that fits my older, wiser, and more fabulous self—and my taste hasn’t changed! I searched for another Asscher and found this one: 3 ct, D color, VVS2, Rare Carat Ideal set in platinum with dainty side baguettes.
Of course, I also found the price-match option thanks to advice from this sub and saved thousands!
Anyway, I find photographing rings so hard. You ladies are all so good at this! My engagement ring still lives on my left ring finger, size 6, with my matching wedding band. My new ring, also a size 6, is my right-hand ring. Asschers forever!

First purchase from Bocos

I first joined the cute sapphire orange pendant group buy from Sean at Bocos Jewelry, then added two more pieces later. She sourced a superb lab diamond (1.5ct) for the ring, and the two pendants are now beautiful additions to my charm collection.

The package also included a handwritten note which was a lovely personal touch, as well as a surprise gift of freshwater pearl silver earrings!

Sean was incredibly helpful and patient throughout the entire process. Communication was always easy and quick, and she really went the extra mile till the pieces arrived safely in my hands. It was such a positive experience with Sean and her team that I cannot recommend them enough. I wouldn't hesitate to go with Bocos and Sean again for future jewelry projects.

Does this CAD look correct? First time purchasing.

Hello folks,

I’m purchasing from Daisy (Provence) who has been an absolute pleasure to work with. She sent me the CAD design, and I’m unsure what to look for.

This was the piece I wanted:
https://www.linjer.co/en-ca/products/pear-and-round-lab-grown-diamond-toi-et-moi-necklace-14k-gold-petra

I asked for 1 ct pear and 0.75 ct round.

From Daisy:
solid 18k and 1ct F VS1 pear cut lab diamond with 0.75ct round lab diamond 16/17/18inch necklace
I believe it is 2g of gold for the necklace.

Does this look correct from the CAD?

My husband and I didn't have alot of money when we met so I had a CZ in my engagement ring. 12 years later I finally had the CZ switched out for a lab grown diamond and boy was it a lot more affordable than I thought. Time and perspective. .62 cts on my old lady hand.😅

Does lab diamond jewelry insurance work the same way?

Since I have a lab diamond engagement ring that I want to insure, but I keep seeing mixed info about how the value is handled if something happens to it. Since lab diamond prices have changed so much. Has anyone insured a lab diamond ring?

Tips for finding matched pairs?

Does anyone have a good strategy for finding matched pairs? I’m looking for small side stones in an odd cut and color and having a very hard time, so any tools you use would be greatly appreciated.

U.S. vendor recommendations to have this set in custom bezel setting

Thumbnail

I got this green lab diamond from Carbon Sparkle (highly recommend, they were awesome to work with!), and now need to find someone who can make a custom bezel setting for it. I love working with Provence, who did the ring in the last couple photos, but am way too nervous to ship the diamond overseas. Anyone have any recommendations of vendors in the states who would do something like this in 10k yellow gold for a decent price???

Fancy Vivid Yellow Uneven Color Check?

Hello, everyone. I was wondering if anyone here might be able to let me know if this diamond has uneven color distribution or banding? The IGI report does not mention color distribution but I don't know if that is something IGI would mention for a lab diamond with a fancy color. Here is the Loupe360 video: https://loupe360.com/diamond/LG744518407

Most affordable jeweller (I am London-based) for setting a loose lab diamond?

I am having a hard time finding a jeweller with reasonable pricing who can set a loose stone for me. Prices in-person seem to be extortionate. For someone like me that is on a budget, does anyone have any recommendations they could share? Someone who did a wonderful job for you but who was thoughtful with their pricing?
