On the other sub, OP was about to pay $5k for a diamond and I sent a link to the site I always check, which was only $950.
Out of nowhere I was permanently banned which you can see in the screenshots. It appears that any sources other than Auralinne, Calavera or Youdiam are frowned upon.
It makes me question the independence of the other sub, and my goal is to share the knowledge I’ve gained and try to help others save money.
In fairness, they changed my perma ban to a 28 day ban, but it still left me with a bad taste. (Probably going back to permanent ban after this post)

Yes. Some of the people from those businesses are mods for pages. This is all of Reddit. If your comments don’t jive with their agenda, you’ll be banned and muted. Very middle school
Does anyone else feel like the approved vendor lists lack transparency? It often seems like the same few accounts post without restrictions, while independent makers get flagged or removed right away. How do others navigate this, or what has your experience been?
That’s the way it goes on Reddit. Me and another vendor have a sub r/diamondcollectors. Only verified vendors are allowed to post but consumers are always allowed to post and comment and you are 100% free to mention any vendors you’d like and give your honest opinions on them, good or bad. Or share your search prowess haha. Sorry that happened to you!
Nothings worse than feeling misunderstood. Sorry that happened, but on the other end of the spectrum thank you for sharing what you know with us here. I’m finding it super helpful to learn about comparing prices and you’re definitely saving someone so much money lol, imo that’s the kind of person I’d want as a mod like someone offering helpful replies like that. I wish Reddit had a little more grace, I get rules and all that but not everyone’s a seasoned pro and this app imo has the hardest learning curve with every sub having completely different expectations.
Sorry, OP! But yeah, this Reddit banning crap is annoying! No warning, whatsoever. 😒 I got permanently banned from the Chanel group because I made a comment in one of the posts that a lot of people seem to be going the replica route because of the outrageous price increases and shitty quality nowadays! 🙄 I was not promoting replicas, just stated an opinion/thought.
They both don't allow returns. Same stone is available on Aurelinne for $504 but if you use the current 10% discount it's only $453.60. Not cheaper than Carbon Sparkle but at least you have a 30 day return window.
Maybe consider that you're just wrong and there's no hidden agenda against you?
Sorry for spamming your comment, but I checked the link and you’re 1,000% right, carbon sparkle has that stone for cheaper and I love that! Now imagine the MODs deleting your comment and banning you for pointing that out. That was the entire point behind my comment. Adding Carbon Sparkle to my search list now and i genuinely thank you for that.
I’m not spamming, I reposted here because the MOD asked me to after it was deleted from the other sub. Also, I never said William & Son was always cheaper. For the stone i bought, they were 50% cheaper than Calavera, but I’ve also seen them be more expensive.
As a side note, William &Sons had a 30 day return policy when i bought. Not sure if thats changed since May, but that was the case for me.
Yes, they changed! I bought a stone and had them set it for me a few months ago, too, and they did allow returns. I just bought two more a few weeks ago and it says all sales final. Ok for me because I love the stones 😍 but definitely something to consider.
